Baja Questions
hey guys me and my friend are going to be getting Baja 5Bs soon. after the stock engines die we are going to be putting the 30.5 ESP kits on our motors. we are debating on which pipe to get. i like the sound of the DDM Dominator but i also like the X-Can. which one would bring out the most power in the 30.5 kit? we are going to be running in dunes alot with paddle tires.

RE: Baja Questions
i dont want any other pipe. i am only deciding between the X-Can and the Dominator. currently i think that the X-Can is the best pipe for the money.

Personally I have both the X-can and the Hpi pipe and I think the HPI pipe is better, plus you can buy the HPI pipe for 89.00 from here.. and it is protected just the same as the X-can.....JMO

RE: Baja Questions
For the dunes, where it is wide open, you might be disapointed in the 30.5 because it uses a 2mm stroker crank, and stroker cranks eat up some peak RPM. Your stock engine may rev higher for more top speed (but the 30.5 will get there quicker). You might like the stock stroke cranks better for your application.
Ya wanna know what I think would be a great set up for the dunes (if you have the money for a $600.00 long block). A G260 top end with a stock stroke crank, ported to fit on a set of TS reed cases and a good pipe. We hope to do some pipe testing at silver lake this coming weekend on that set up to see which pipe works best. I am shooting for 20,000 RPM, and it should still have some pretty good grunt because of the superior reed valve cases.
Other wise, just stick with a ported G260 engine and a high reving pipe for your sand dune application.
My opinion

That is the pipe right now that holds my interest the most for the dunes. I have not tried one yet, and it may be a little doggy in the lower RPM's on some engines. But I hear it likes to rev. I have not tried the DOM either, but it looks like it makes a nice useable spread of power from the vids I have seen so far. Just because a pipe works on one engine configuration--does not mean it will work as good on another engine configuration--so it is kind of a crap shoot for the best performance. My advise---try your buddies pipes on your engine before you buy. Use the buddy system---lol

RE: Baja Questions
well where im ordering from all i can buy is the 30.5 kit with the 2mm stroker crank. i like the fact that is has heaps of grunt and i am not too worried on it having less revs up top. i have seen videos of it in the sand and it looks good to me. i think that the 30.5 kit and the Dominator pipe would be a good choice to turn the baja into a dune weapon.

The Jetpro-V3 is a nice pipe and with silencer it is not really that loud and it does
not melt anywhere on the roll cage at all. [sm=thumbup.gif] [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

Earth surfer your the person i got my motor from to then. i have a 30.5 esp motor in my MCD MT. i was wondering how this motor would do if i put a reed kit on it? and By the way my motor is KILLER! as soon as it comes up on the pipe it's gone! killer grunt to move my heavy 4X4. starts in just 3-4 pulls every time! thanks for a great motor!

RE: Baja Questions
is it essential to run the 2mm crank with the 30.5 ESP kit, or are we able to use the stock crank. i looked at the description and it said we must use the 2mm stroker crank.

RE: Baja Questions
I can only comment on the dom pipe with the stock 23 engine..... It is a totally different engine with this pipe in the way that the low to mid range torque is incredible... I personally dont notice any additional top end and this pipe is very loud as it sounds like a dirt bike, so keep that in mind if you guys will be running in local parks or residential area's. enjoy your new obsession

RE: Baja Questions
with the right maintenance the stock engine should last you a long time so why be in such a rush to dump the money into a new engine???Throw a pipe on the stocker & let it rip!!!
