Default Black Spark plug= what

I just got my baja today and the spark plug is black. Is it to rich? looks like carbon on the plug and on the cylinder. also, there is no smoke? what gives, i richened it up some but still no smoke. it is just like my weed eater no smoke. what is factory settings for the carb?

spark plugs are the other way round to glows, black is to rich, what oil mix are you running? 25:1? 30:1? ect, you might not be mixing enough oil with your fuel which may cause you to not see the smoke, generally you will see it though even without much oil (speaking from motocross bikes here, i havn't had any experience with large scale rc's, but i assume them both being high performance two stroke engines to have similar characteristics with the oil mix)

Factory settings are H=1 3/4 turns out L=1 1/2 turns out

I mix my gas 32:1

yep 32:1 here as well. I leaned the HSN and i got a whiter plug, Im pretty sure it over heated. because it had a high temp. What is the max temp a engine should get? ALso what should the gap be?

Looks just fine to me.

How long have you ran this engine for ? Chances are it is still in teh BREAK-IN time frame of the first tanks of gas right ?

On the FG I have I run 25:1 right now, and rarely see any smoke except when I start it and engine is cold. Once warmed up, I see nothing.
