Help me Decide
Hey Guys.
A good friend of mine is willing to swap a Lauterbacher Monster Truck, and has the kit also to go to theL3 Supercross (so can be a buggy or MT)
for a FG Leopard Race.
The Leo Race is all Alloy with Elcon parts, and hydro brakes front and back has a $$$ viscous diff.
The Laterbacher is stock (all alloy) so if I did swap, i'd go Hydro brakes..
No problem with parts as have an FG and Lauterbacher supplier close to me!
Funny thing also, the Leo Race was also his as well!..
So what do you think, keep the Leopard race or swap for the Lauterbacher..

what are you going to use that bad boy for, racing or bashing????

I've also in the process of making the Leo interchangeable for a MT. Just need to fabricate the front body posts to bolt onto the shock tower, so it too can be swapped from monster to Buggy

RE: Help me Decide
He wants the leo back for a reason... think long and hard about this one. Personally I'd stick with the leo, you have it at the same stage as the laut anyway (prob better - thats why he wants it back) with a mt/buggy swap ability, the hydros and the viscous diff and you're keeping up with bajas in it aren't you?
Keep the FG.

RE: Help me Decide
More than keeps up with the Baja's.
I know he want's it back due to he also has a FG MT (it was mine) and easier to deal with one person.. It was actually me the asked if he wanted to swap! So there's no real intent.
Both cars have 4k AUD spent on them...
I've probably spent some more $$ on the FG, due to MT wheels, bigger squares.. But in the end with the extras I need to do to finish off the Buggy to MT, and the cost of Hydro's on the Lauterbacher, it will be close to even money again... lol...
Maybe I'll wait till I'm back home, and catch up with him, (going for a bash) then I can see and decide from there...
All up, person in question is very fair and honest!, no pressure from him at all....
I guess it wouldn't be an issue if the MCD 4x4 MT wasn't so ugly! I can get one around $2k AUD ....

RE: Help me Decide
Thnaks guys,
I think there is only one way to decide and that is to compare the two up front!...
Customizing the Leo so it can transform between MT and Buggy would involove a bit more work when the Lauterbacher has it already done...
I'll decide to day going bashin with him, and some others....
