Default Baja 5B stock servo problem

Basically, when the car is off, and I move the wheels by hand, the servo gives no resistance and it just "clicks" instead of forcing the motor. When I turn the car on, the servo manages to engage and operate normally. Thing is, If something is loose in there I dont want to risk losing control or doing further damage while running it.

Is this something that I can fix just be popping open the servo? or do I have to replace something?

Sounds like you may need a servo gear replacement set. Pick up one and see if that works if so get extra sets.

yeah, i figured that i would be forced to get the metal ones eventually anyway. Any car that large and heavy should be using a beefy servo.

Just an update, popped it open and sure enough, one gear is half way stripped.

No biggie, the cost of the hobby :/

yep i also had to convert it to metal gears after stripping the plastic ones . the metal gear conversion kit only gives you the main causing gears that strip . its not a full metal conversion as i hoped it would be .. lol i kinda felt ripped off when i recieved the metal gear conversion set from the hobby shop and seeing that it still came with plastic gears lol

Yeah I realized that when looking a picture, either way, seems to last a lot longer.
