Anyone own an XRC?
Like this: http://www.********.co.uk/XRC2.htm
It looks like a baja knock-off.
Is the price is to good to be true?
Thanks.

RE: Anyone own a ******** XRC?
Not much of a knock-off of the 5b (except for rollcage and wing) This ones based on a teknokit on-road car. The same makers started selling a new version which looks almost identical though. I have the RC-2, fun car.

Mine has had no problems. It's very important to disconnect the servo from the steering before powering up. If the setting is off from the factory (lots are) as soon as you turn it on it will strip itself. If I hadn't checked mine it would have stripped.

Yup, radio is poop (never used mine just incase) I had the same problem with engine bog. I had to take the highend way open (screw almost coming out at first) to get rid of the bog, but after a couple tanks the engine started running well and could screw it back in without the bog. Runs great with decent power. It would be nice to find a tuned pipe for it though.

RE: Anyone own a ******** XRC?
ok after about a week or so and one tank of gas mine will still bog at first a little tuneing and
the bog goes away. So far bashed it into a curb a couple times got it stuck under a car
and very little damage I did bend the front splitter but thats about it
this this is great I can run for more then a hour on 1 tank
my nitros 15mins and refuel - retune
Oh yea I have the RC-1 version on without the body it tears up the dirt like the t-maxx (yea i already started bashing with it)

RE: Anyone own an XRC?
Thanx,
Ive just got my XRC RC2 a couple of days ago. And honestly, Im not to happy with the way it runs. I own a couple of 1/8 scale buggy and truggy and they all seem to run faster then the XRC.
Just wondering if the Zenoah motor is better then the CY motor? and where can I get them from. As I live in Australia and its a lil hard to get motors of such. And which tunepipe would you recomend I should use.

The motor in the XRC is not a CY its their own "thing". Please before you dump in a ton of money take it back or donate it to a local club for parts. Friends do not let friends spend good money on XRC

RE: Anyone own an XRC?
I'm thinking of geting two of these from ******** as its the cheapest place to get them online.
it looks like value, being half the price of a Baja and one of the cheapest petrol cars.
i think it looks better than the baja.
people have said they are not the best, but for value for money, is there better in this price range £250 - £350?
I am gonna get two and race one against the other with my mate, i think it'll be more fun than just getting one, and i dont know other people who have them round here.
also considering the ShengQi 1/5th Scale Petrol Radio Controlled Monster Truck
thoughts?

If you can't afford (or like the looks of) the Baja, next choice should be the truck. Reason for both is parts support (truck can use most of the firehammer mt parts) The XRC is good for the money... as long as it doesn't break (they're okay, but not much fun if you can't drive them hard)

RE: Anyone own an XRC?
Hey all. I got one of the XRC-RC2 buggys. Save yourself the headache. These things are really really bad quality. The rear upper arm snapped in about 20 feet. (I made new from steel). Then the front knuckle broke. The brass insert popped clear out of it. Then the square outer drives stripped. Then one of the axles broke it's pin. The drive cups at the wheels are almost ate in half. Then the trany drive stripped on the counter gear. This wouldn't be bad if this happened over a while, but I'm not through my first tank yet!! The thing was constantly doing it's own thing. The radios are HORRIBLE. BUT, the 27cc CY engine on it is amazing. Which may be why all the drive components are breaking. It really runs incredible. I've had really good luck with all my CY engines. I got ahold of XRC for warranty, they said they won't warranty anything sold off ebay because the sellers aren't authorized. So I'm stuck. It will be on ebay being parted out. If interested call me (Rob) 765-654-9892 I take paypal. I did buy a 5B Baja used with a bad engine and ended up putting this 27cc engine in it with a DDM pipe. WOW, This little CY runs excellent. I hope this helps. Rob.

RE: Anyone own an XRC?
ORIGINAL: bospheros
because they're half the price is the main reason.
because they're half the price is the main reason.
90% of the time, cars that are half the price of something are usually half the quality as well.
my KM has been good to me the little I did drive it, and i drive the **** out of my rc cars...
but side by side I can see a quality difference in the KM and HPI baja's...and the KM is half the price...and in some cases, most of the plastic parts were half the quality...
so you take something thats half the quality of another model that is already half the quality of the original QUALITY model, well...I think in this case its safe to use something like this:
q= quality=.5
qxq= dont waste the money
or
.5x.5=.25(dont waste the money)
get a KM if you dont want to spend too much...I'm happy with mine, and the only problem I have had was a bad engine..but I also bought mine used and dont know the history of it..
and with a new Zen engine on the way with an x-can, and replacing all the plastic parts with HPI parts, I still have not spent $700..
