Default Screw Size?

Does anyone happen to know what size the screws are on the aluminum diff housing? I need to know the size for the 2 screws that hold the case together. I'm missing the ones that were supposed to be installed on the one I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

im not sure but i would think mabye 4-40 or 2-56 depending on the scale of the diff. take the diff/case to a local hardware store and compare the thread size there. if your interested i now have a website i am building a 1/4 scale prostreet Beretta. it's at www.quarterscaleberetta.com I hope that helps you out...stoneyberk

The screw size is M3x8mm. The FG part number is 6717/8. See the image below for the breakdown.

Here's the link to the PDF assembly guide.

http://www.fg-modellsport-gmbh.de/_P...N/A.8485-5.pdf

I have the 8485 diff and have cammed out one of those screws. If I ever tear down my diff again I plan on using something harder than the FG screws to prevent cam-out.

Have you checked out http://www.hexcrews.com/ ? These guys sell screws of all sizes that are about as hard as you can buy.
