Default Anyone tried reed kits ?

HI,

Anyone tried to one of the cylinder reed kits form oneill brothers or from DDM and can tell
what was the difference ?

I'm currently running my engine with juice box, and it's running great, the only disadvantage of it is the unstable idle.
I have a brand new reed kit that I would like to try.

Thanks,
Roei

I run an oneill's 28.5 reed ported motor in my baja. I love it, its got plenty of torque and revs very high.

Did you install the reed later or bought it with the engine ?
I would like to hear about the difference after adding the reed kit.

I couldnt imagine what power i would get from a reed kit on my new 29cc chrome head kit motor... It's already INSANE! with just a DDM pipe... Man i bet if i put a 2speed and red on my truck it would be fast as hell!!! Man my 40lb truck should go this fast lol

I don't know this reed kit, but from what I read, to get the most potential of the reed kit, porting of the intake is needed.

That is correct. Without porting gains are minimal.

Ryan,

I have the proline-racing reed kit from you.
It's new in the bag, I tried to blow inside with my mouth and it feels not so free.
It should be like that ?

Yep, your mouth pressure is not anywhere comparable to engine pressure

Did you try humming a tune while blowing through it?
