Giant Scale steering
I'm in the middle of a project for my son and well........for myself. My son is all of 15 months old and has no concept of driving (duh) but he loves to ride. I got an idea while riding him around on my brothers golf cart and decided to roll with it.
I acquired a PowerWheels Jeep (freebie) with the intentions of making it fully radio controlled. I have the electronics installed and I use an extra battery just for the electronics alone. Forward and reverse works great, however..........
I am running out of idea's on a good, fast, strong and cheap steering mechanism. I can fabricate whatever but I'd like to know what most of you are using for steering on your giant scales RC's.
Thanks in advance.

I wonder if a pulley system with a sail wench servo would work. I thought about the same thing. I have a 8 month old who loves anything dangerous.....lol.

RE: Giant Scale steering
You have a couple of choices for a giant scale servo.
1. You can make your own using a wiper motor ??
2 The Tonegawa 105 @ $600 or 050 @ $200 servos. Expensive.

Another thing that might work http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLN93&P=0 . At 6 volts these have a lot of power. A lot of servo muscle for the price. I have two of these hooked in tandem and the are able to steer a giant scale buggy I built that weighs almost 100 pounds quite well.
