Came home from work early today because the power went out and someone "forgot" to keep gas in the backup generator. Anyway, I had this 1/5 gas monster truck thats been sitting in my workshop collecting dust, hasnt ran in years.

So I decided to chop it up and do something crazy with it. I extended the chassis by 9 inches, and am making a new rollcage buggy style. steering servo was shot so I used one out of a welding arm.

I'll finish it up tomorrow, I'm not going to spend a cent on it - all found materials.

Oh I will. It should be done soon, just have to finish fabricating a few more chassis and roll cage parts.

what kindd of body are you going to use for it?

I wasnt really thinking of using a body. The roll cage is removable, so im thinking of just using some sort of fabric streched over it for the "body" or maybe even leaving it as a frame.

How's it handle with that long wheel base?

hehe we'll see this weekend.

Because of the way I ended up aranging the servo saver and tie rods, the steering travel isnt as extreme as it was before. So I'm expecting a pretty large turning radius. But I did gear it for speed, and replaced the 23cc with a 29cc.

It wont be that bad, but its definitely not going to be impressive. As long as it moves and makes lots of noise I'll be happy :P
