Default Baja 5B-Do any of you have this?

Guys,
Do any of you run this in your Baja? If you do what are your opinions. Do you really see the "punch" off the line. This is from Daves Discount Motors.
Thanks,
John

15448 - High Response Clutch Shoe & Spring Set

$32.00

You asked for it and we listened! Designed with the experienced Baja 5B enthusiast in mind, HPI Racing is proud to announce our High Response Clutch Shoe and Spring Set for the Baja 5B. The stock clutch setup in the Baja is good for most driving, but if you want your car to launch off the line with authority and use all of the power that the Baja has to offer, this is the set you need. The stock Baja 5B clutch starts to engage at 6000 RPM and is fully engaged at 7000 RPM, the High Response set engages at 8000 RPM and is fully engaged at 10,500 RPM, which launches the Baja 5B at higher RPM for more punch off the line. To achieve this goal we have specially designed lighter clutch shoes and a stronger clutch spring. If you want more punch from your Baja 5B, give the HPI High Response Clutch Shoe and Spring Set a try! Fits Chung Yang CY23RC / CY26RC / CY27RC / CY29RC / GP290 engines. Also fits Zenoah G23LH / G2D / G230RC / G260RC / G231PUH / G260PUH / G260PU / G231PUM / G260PUM engines. HPI part # 15448.

Yup I run 8000rpm clutch spring, it's like your engine is on steroids compared to a 6000rpm spring

Are you running the stock fulie engine. I do not see it listed under compatible engines now that I have read it again.

The bottom end is stock sure, I added a 29cc top end though, HPI themselves make a 8000rpm kit for the baja, you don't need different clutch shoes just the spring, which is a bit of a ***** to get on, the 8000rpm spring and tuned pipe should really wake a stock 23cc engine up.
The stock Fuelie engine btw is a CY23RC engine.

I run the same setup as badz.. 29cc upper and stock lower end.. the major difference I have is its like an on/off switch for power.. used to be able to roll along at walking speed with the stock unit, now its goose the gas and roll along... I also fitted the HPI pipe so this clutch and shoe set were necessary to get the engine into the power band for off the line performance.. the HPI pipes power is developed at a higher rpm... Off the line power is much better.

Gotcha. I have a Dominator pipe so maybe this mod is worth it.
Thanks,
John

For the price of it and the few minutes it takes to add it, yep it's well worth it.

I have the 8K spring But not those shoes I think they are over priced, I'am running a 28.5 head kit and a HPI pipe, and I'am not noticing very low end power loss with this setup..... These are the shoes that I'am running that I have founf to be doing the job..I was running Firehammer Clutches for a whil I could get about 4tanks out them ,but so far I can get about a gallon+of fuel out of these clutches.

I run the stock shoes with the 8k springs... this is the 2nd set in a year and the first was toasted from fine dirt and sand.. still have pad left, just gouged out... for the price of the stock shoes, I will stick with them..
