RE: anyone know about the imex gas buggy?
lol im not a imex guy trying to start rumors, i been out of the rc game just recently decided to get back in, so yeah im new here
1st post, ok heres how i heard about the imex to start with, i was doing some reaserch on the net, and i saw a list of dealers for
traxxas and in the list i saw my friends used sporting good business and then i remembered seeing a rc car in his store. so i called him and said yo man get me some prices on gas buggys, his price on baja 5b $869, traxxas $759, imex $529, so i was like hmm i gotta
find some info on this imex, i later called him back and asked him if he could get more info on it but havnt called him back since. i will
soon but i was trying some other methods too (here and rcgroups) anyways i found imexrc.com and sent them email from their site
but they didnt return my email, not really a good sign i guess lol, anyway there is a world trade site called alibaba.com and i contacted some chinese guys and got a quote of $170 on the xrc gas buggy, no radio or servos, nice price huh BUT you have to buy 50 to get that price im postive i could resale em on ebay and make profit but i dont have the $10000 to invest like that. so anyways i send em email saying oh yeah send me one for $170 to check it out first. havnt heard back from them hehehe. so anyways i found imex rc
on there on alibaba and i emailed from there and guy did email me back saying sure he can sell me just one for $599 shipping included and parts are available for it too. and he said it was new thats why its not on imexrc.com yet. anyway i havnt emailed him back cus my friend can get it for $529 shipped to his shop so ill pay that not $599. so i decided i would ask here if yall know anything
about it. yesterday on ebay i was outbid in the last minute on a like new firehammer for $400 i was pretty disapointed, freaking ebay makes me mad im always outbid in like the last 30 seconds piss's me off so bad hehe

Darn, I was hoping you were the IMEX guy!
I would stick with known brands, I have a HPI Baja which is a great vehicle. I also have a Firehammer MT, which is also a great vehicle.

IMEX is now importing XRC 1:5 scale so it is the same. The cars / buggies are far below sub par for 1:5 scale use even at $400 they are toy quality at best. Factory direct is $225 FOB China if you can find people to buy 50

RE: anyone know about the imex gas buggy?
well at least i didnt pay the price i seen at our local mall which is $700 without the front brakes, yeah i agree with you, they are poorly built but for just messing around at the school parking lot ,its better than playing with a walmart newbright car.so what is left of your car for $100

RE: anyone know about the imex gas buggy?
I have seen and handled this buggy. My 1/8 scale nitros are much tougher than this thing. The suspension arms are thin and flex alot with just a pinch of your fingers. Heck my Mini-T is probably tougher. Notice how the front of the body doesen't even line up with the rest? It is because it is a small extra piece held on by a single clip. You would think they would at least try to make it line up for an advertisement photo. It would seem like a waste of money to me. I like to run my models hard whether it be bashing or racing, big air jumps, or stunts, and I know I'd break this thing within a week. Save a little money and buy a Duratrax, FG, HPI, MCD, or even a Smartech and enjoy something built better with greater parts availiability and hop-up options. No matter how appealing they make a KIA it is still a just a KIA and will never be a really good car. The same holds true here. If it ends up broken all the time it's initial price savings is still not worth it.

OK here is a trade site on IMEX. If you scrol to the bottom you will see 'items newly added'. There you will see the buggy

RE: anyone know about the imex gas buggy?
Guys and dolls it NOT IMEX it is XRC, IMEX is only buying them from XRC its a PILE! IMEX is a good company why they are buying this pile of Bovine Scat is well beyond me. Its a cheap knock off of the Technokit buggy. The motor is a bad copy of the CY motor but with 8,000 less rpm. Plastic is like rubber and the metal is beyond soft I have the on road version it is not worth the trouble to give away that is how bad it is. You can buy China factory direct for $225.00
Look them up on fleabay under XRC wave off this unit.
