Well I can wait. I'll throw plastic ones on until they ship the alloys. I have two so it's doubly expensive[:@] I have plenty of steel pinions now. I'll put the FG plates on Ebay and maybe I won't loose too much.

Thanks for your help

Wow what a great deal with Powerslide racing. I went a little crazy but what the heck Christmas is here! The two gear plates I purchased in Germany were $150 USD and the ones from PSR were only $50 USD delivered! Well I had to take advantage of the great currancy conversion rate and purchased all sorts of alloy parts. Who cares if I have to wait two weeks. Thanks for the tip!

Hellya do you have a website? FYI Daniels pit stop doesn't carry Firehammer gear plates.

Ok after spending alot of time emailing back and forth I found out the gear plate I purchased from RC-Online in Germany will not work. Although it mounts up fine. Apparently its about 2mm shorter distence between the two bearings and puts the lay shaft at an angle. I cant find the right gear plate for the Firehammer. Anyone know where I can find one. The gear plates I purchased apparently only fit FG.

Ok something don't seem right here , my first largesc was a 2nd hand firehammer which came with an fg 2 spd, alloy gear plate and engine mounts everything lined up and worked fine, the 2sp gear plate and engine mounts now reside on my fgbaja so i know this combo fits on both, so i would have to assume that to use the gearplate you need the FG engine mount...these are the two things that must line up so if it's 2mm out on the plate then the mount must be 2mm different on the FH compared to the fg mount...or is this too simple and I'm missing something?
I simply transferred the plate, gears and mounts from the FH to my baja and it fit perfect. (i also used fg rear brace from the large engine mount to bulkheads).

The problem lies with the lay shaft alignment. I have alloy fh motor mounts so my lay shaft is at 90 degrees to the gear plate. If you use fg motor mounts and gear plate then your about 2mm out of alignment on the lay shaft. I guess you could fudge a little by running the lay shaft gear at an angle to diff gears. I did find the right gear plate in australia and right now the exchange rates are in out favor. (65aus to 1.00 usd) I purchased two for under $50 USD delivered!
