Hi,
Wow, nice build. Though I would like to see a trophy truck without front wheel drive, like the (most?) real ones. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know that much about them.
Did you make the variable length driveshafts yourself? The car in general looks very professional.
I'm building a trophy truggy, 1/8th scale, sorry :-)
Regards,
Leo

Damn...i really like that rear suspension setup you got there.
Is there a place where you bought some of the parts? Or did you make everything yourself? Like A-arms, Wheels, bulkheads, etc

RE: 4WD HPI Baja Trophy Truck
I have been out at the dunes for the last four days. I have since made a chromoly tube role cage which ties the front and rear to the chassis. This makes the front and rear end as indestructible as the rest of the car. I was playing around with the gearing and I need to replace the clutch as I burned it out this weekend. I will try to get some video up later this week. I designed and manufactured all of the suspension components. The wheels are made by Ramtech Engineering, the tires are from Hostile Hobbies, and I also designed and manufactured the beadlocs for the wheels.
In these two pics I am using HPI wheels with my cutom spike beadlocs

Hmmm......don't know if I want to share that it's like asking a woman for her weight or size.
I comes in at about 45lbs (with the Ramtech wheels). LOL I guess this is a heavyweight. I wasn't worried about weight when I first built it I was just trying to get the concept out there and do it in 2.5 weeks. Now I can go back on start looking as saving weight. I know I can take off 10-15 lbs just from refining the design. The trailing arms by them selves weigh 3lbs for both. The ramtech wheels and Hostile tires add 10 lbs to the lot. So yeah, there is lot's of room for improvement.
