16t layshaft gear for FGMT
Hey, im getting tired of grinding down the layshaft gear in my truck. stock is 14t and being that with the motor pushed back as far as it can go and tightend down it still has play between the diff gear and layshaft gear..
Alright 2 questions.
1) Has anyone tried a 16t pinion on the layshaft?? it should still fit so no worries
2) By going up in 2 teeth on the layshaft pinion will i loose wheelies??
Thanks

Wheelies are not happening cause the clutch is getting tired. My truck has not thrown a wheelie off the line in a few months, but then again I adjusted the carb so it wouldn't do that as it will prolong the life of the motor and drivetrain.
A 17 tooth would be kick ass.

I think your gear is getting ground down because of flex in the chassis like PBJT talks about in this thread.
