Default TORNADO INTAKE funky idea for veloscity stack or airfilter

You all have seen the Info-mercials based on the TORNADO intake add-on doohickey.

I was thinking... why not make a small one for inside the filter or on a veloscity stack to swirl the air a bit before it gets into the carb and blends with the spray jets ?

I was also thinking about getting a small computer heat-sinc fan that could be powered off the Reciever and trying to make some sort of air intake suction device to increase airflow.....

Any ideas or comments ?

Just shooting spitwads here....... [sm=thumbs_down.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif]

You mean like a turbo or supercharged?

I've never believed that they actually work.... It's like a poor mans swirl porting job...

A mini Turbo would be insane. Finding one small enough would be the hard part.
Would you need all the accessories as you would in a 1:1 Tubro kit like a BO valve and a waste gate? I have no clue about that.

A SCer would'nt be possible. These little motors dont have any drive accessories to drive the belts that run a SCer.

Tig, something this small will have to be scratch built. a capasitor and charger attached to the fly wheel similar to how bicycle generators work could be easily adapted to provide power booster.

VTL, I have one on my astrovan (it is carborator TBI fuel injected) and worked well. I saw a small gain in throttle response, but 4-6 horse power is still 4-6 horsepower more than I had

tign the SCER you could always adapt a puyy on the fly wheel and run it like that. but i thin k the turbo would be better, cuz i have read that a SCer doesnt work on a 2 stroke motor.....

too much surfing on ebay?

this type of stuff wont work on 2 strokes, what will thoug is to harnes the power of intake pulses to give the intake track a bost.

Ahhh, adapting a pully on the flywheel. That's a good idea. I like the Turbo idea better, though I dont know how well it would work with these 2 strokes. I would give it a try.

Dave,
Thats not QSL , its QSPSB

Jet powered car has been done before. there was one on Utube that got airborne with the body and it tore off the dragster car. I wonder if this is the same one in your pix... LOL.

OOOps. Thanks TIG,,, Hey dave being your thread is on the subject of funky idea's have you or anyone here seen a setup like this before??

OMG is this really the Batmobile that was featured in RCAA like 20 years ago!!!!. This car is the epitome of a custom car. Everytime that I do a custom car or part I think of this car and the article I read in RCAA as a young boy in junior high. LOL. So where did you get the photos from?

In regards to two stroke motors, my understanding is that a turbo or supercharger will not work because the pressure buildup gets shot directly out of the exhaust port which is 180 deg off from the intake port.

I have been discussing a mass produced "hot engine" with a guy who has been on the cusp of two stroke development for the last 30 years. What's interesting is that no one has ever adopted his mods even though they are race proven and some of his concepts have even been patented.

The key to everything two stroke is to keep the air/fuel mixture turbulent!!! Avoid laminar buildup!! Stop polishing your engines!!!!

Not the kind of thing that makes exciting TV. Even the alternative fuels episode, while interesting, was not exactly exciting. They didn't blow anything up, except themselves with the direct hydrogen injection.
