Default Electric - Large Scale Thread Discussion

I was tooling around in this forum, and there is not a big LargeScale Electric thread. There is a bunch of stuff out, from 100.00 NewBrights to 3000.00 bigboy racers.

So, lets post pix and discuss how we can hop tehm up or make them fast like the gas cousins !

CARSON Schattenjäger (Shadow Hunter) CE6-B

1:6 electric powered offroad model, pre-assembled with brushless motor and speed controller included.

The double layer chassis is very stiff. The mounting locations of batteries and motor result in a low center of gravity for high cornering speeds and a neutral behavior over jumps. The a-arms and the shocks are the same as the Carson Comanche, no proprietary things here and the same adjustability to change your setup. The car is fully ball raced.

16 NiMh cells (2 x 8-cell packs) with a brushless motor provide very good performance. The speed controller has forward, brake and reverse!

..>

..>
Technical details:

no fuel smell
very quiet
easy handling – charge the batteries, plug in and go
wheels with 15 cm diameter
brushless motor included
speed controller included (forward / brake / reverse)
approx. 60 km/h top speed
approx. 10 minutes run time
weight RTR approx. 7,5 kg (~ 3 kg less than a comparable gas powered car)
strong acceleration
incredible throttle response
..>
..>
Technical ..

Chassis CE-6B
Length: 740 mm
Width: 430 mm
Wheelbase: 475 mm
Motor BE5-brushless
Speed controller E5-Car 100
Top speed ca. 60 km/h
Weight: ca. 7,5 kg (RTR)
Battery pack: 16 cells
Content of delivery :

Car with body shell, assembled RTR
with brushless-speed controller
with brushless motor
no steering servo included!
Accessories needed:

RC-system (2-ch or up)
Jumbo-sized steering servo
2 x 8 cell battery pack (9,6 Volt/ Sub-C)
Batteries for the rc-system (TX and RX)
Charger for the all batteries
appropriate charging cords

Car, assembled with motor and controller: € 512.00

Battery pack for Schattenjäger

8-cell battery pack for the car above, 3600mAh, NiMh . You need two packs to run the car.
High current version with 2,5mm² cable.

€ 61.50
Oh, and my neighbors will be greatfull as well because the Electric power is quiet at night, and also ECO-FRIENDLY as it does not use any gasoline from them damn Iraquiez....

Very nice trucks man, but with a 12V battery they probably don't go over 20MPH right.

MCD is working on an electric also. they made mention of it in another thread here on RCU.. ( looking for it now)

It was a thread talking about the recient hobby show... had a vide also with a wheel blowing off it in the yard doing roundabouts

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_63...tm.htm#6362793

TIG, yeah, but stil 1/4 scale is UNHEARD OF for toys. They are set up junky, but with some mods, and a few after market parts, they could be a seriously viable "play toy" that does like 40mph

NEWBRIGHT
Based in Hong Kong, New Bright has been around since 1955 and produces radio control and remote control vehicles, train sets, and electric toys and accessories. Ranging in size from a big 1:6 to a hand-size 1:24 scale, in addition to cars, trucks, and jeeps there are several boats and motorcycles. New Bright Toys include officially licensed Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, and Chevrolet products.
The ready-to-run New Bright RC toys are usually full function with forward/reverse and left/right steering, use rechargeable battery packs, and often come in multiple colors and frequencies for each style of vehicle. Some models have working lights, realistic engine sounds or music, spinner wheels, high & low gear selectors, and 2 speeds. Many of the larger models have 4-band selectable frequencies. Most toys are for ages 8 and up.
1:6 Scale Cars and Trucks: In 2005 the International CXT [ Guide Review of CXT ] in red or silver dominated store shelves then the Hummer began showing up over the next several months. Other big New Bright vehicles include cars like the Ford Mustang GT, Nissan 350Z, and Porsche Carrera GT and trucks like the F-150

LOL

A lot of us FG truckers are snagging the bodies from these and slapping them on our trucks

I'm still new to large scales, but I really cannot imagine not having some kind of 2 stroke engine sound coming out of one of these things...

It just wouldnt feel right...like someone told me before..."running electrics is like watching watching tv with the sound turned off.."

I second that.
But each to their own I guess.....

I tried using an electric lawnmower once.
I broke out in a rash all over my body and had many years of therapy afterwards....[&:]
I'm ok now though.

that baja looks scary [] lol. any video?

anyone having problems with a speed controller, ever thought
about going back to a "mechanicall" speed controller? the old school
ones operated by a servo?

i must say i am facinated with big electric stuff. just the power and
size. quite brutality.... muahahaha.

seriously though some footage of that baja would be sweet.
