Default UN-fuel

Hey guys, i run my Baja today for first time. IT ROCKS!!! I have a question. Is it bad if i leave fuel in the tank? Anyway, i remove all the fuel from the tank but the fuel tubing and the buble on the carburator still have fuel in. What i must do to remove the excess fuel?

I don't drain mine, i just make sure I always have stabil mixed in with my gas, usually the gas don't sit in these long enough to get nasty

ya can empy the bulb and lines by just firing it up it'll pull that fuel and stall out

I heard that again. I heard that is bad to let your engine run out of fuel Are you sure? I think with the petrol engine will be ok but for the nitro ones I DON"T THINK SO because i had one that i forgot to refuel it and the result was let the engine running at very high rpms for half or a complete second (and not even brakes could stop it at that phase)

if you leave your nitro engine with nitro fuel inside the carb and the piston....... and you will store it for a long time the nitro fuel will gum inside the engine and the carb and in the fuel tube. but in petrol engine i think its bad for the fuel tubing and the bubble cause it will get hard .

What do you mean hard? It will close the fuel tubing? Why the real cars or even motorcycles leave the fuel? For the nitro engines is bad, but for petrol engines is not big deal. Nothing screwed up

a long time ago my baja was buggered and i didnt have any fuel in it , the fuel lines drained out too . When that happened the yellow fuel line shrank and went hard as a rock. Now i make sure to leave fuel in it and start it every now and then so it stays good

petrol (gas) is carbon based, so it doesn't attract water like the methanol (alcohol) in glow fuel does, it's fine to leave fuel in your gas engines.

Ok thanks, but i have a question more. This shrank fuel tubing...can you show me a picture or two, so i can understand perfectly the image it will showed up. And another one, if i leave petrol in the fuel tubing and the engine for a long time, does this matter? Is good to take out the fuel tubing and clean them with plenty of water or diassembly the engine?

You worry too much. Just kidding, You dont need to remove fuel unless planning to store for 6+ months. Even then I would just use STABIL which is a fuel stabilizer. You do not need to clean fuel lines or tear down engine, these gassers are no where near as finnicky as nitros. And require less care and maintenance. When I am done with my saws/weedwhackers I just hang em' in the rafters till next season and they always run.

I Leave gas in my FG MT and sportsline all the time, no problems.

The one time I had an issue, I left gas in my smartech MT for like a year....fuel tubing went bad but thats it - engine was fine.

Its not a big deal like with nitros

I leave mine in my FG baja....all I do is pump the bulb to mix it up in the pipes and give that car a good shake to mix it all up. Not sure how long it takes for the oil to settle in that fuel?

Oh another thing, now that i start my baja for first time, the buble on the carburator is fill with fuel. Next time i go to start it, iy is necesary to press the buble? And how about the remaining fuel which is mixture of petrol and 2-stroke oil? If i let it some time, it will seperate, right? What i must do to mix it up again if that seperate mixture is in the fuel tubing and either in the engine? That's a lot of things, right? Sorry to ask but is in my nature to worry that much

It wont hurt it to prime it every time, I do. If you let it sit for more than a couple days just shake car for a few seconds and press primer bulb 5-6 times and you are good to go.

Can you over prime it? or does the excess go back into the tank?

the primer bulb just fills the carbuerator, the second fuel line takes the excess fuel back to the tank. in most cases the primer bulb doesn't actually put gas into the engine, just lets the carbuerator be full and ready to run instead of being dry and trying to prime itself...

Yeah, i see. I do prime it many times and the engine never stall. But if i press the bubble MANY MANY tinmes, can the engine stall?

You CAN flood the engine in my experience, but even if you do its not a big deal.

I just give it 3 or 4 pushes if the bulb is full and i have no trouble starting.

Yeah i see. Hey, is any guy that have problems with the starting procedure due to electricity that giving to the spark? I have no issues but i'm asking for my knowledge. There is something (magnet perhamps) that when you spin the engine, electricity is produced and giving to the spark, and so the engine start and as far the engine running, the spark always have electricity.
