well i will be getting a hpi baja within the next 2 weeks thats a deffinate. I mainly want to get a better understanding of large scale companys so i can read up on different vehicles. I want to know about all the manufactures, the same way i know about all the nitro companys.

You're not going to find magazine articles like you do with the smaller scale companies... For some reason the magazines ignore the 1/4, 1/5 and 1/6 scale gasoline powered vehicles...

ya i know that, just doing searches on the web and a few other large scale forums and dealers. Looking at pic to see what some of these other vehicles look like. I was only formiliar with fg,mcd,hpi,and smart tech since those are the names i here on this forum a lot.

there used to be a 5th scale mag i got called modelracer a few years back, but they stopped distribution.

In off-road (I consider just the buggy type of cars) your list could be (alphabetical order):

Contrast (Fuego)
Elcon (Cleon)
FG (Marder, Leopard)
Harm (BX2)
Hormann (HT2)
Hpi (Baja)
Lauterbacher (Supercross)
Technokit (X-cross)
WWS (WWS)

MCD & Kamatiro (does it excist still?) are the 4WD ones, the companies/cars above are all 2WD.
When you look for a competitive car your choice would be between the Cleon and the HT2, others makes are not able to keep up with them if you would review the results of last 2 years competition driving on all events.
