Theyre not exactly light. The battery in my camera is dead, I'll post more pics tomorrow. Those beadlocks look great though, and I have the GBE pipe mounted, along with a a chrome body [8D]

They actually are not all that heavy, we take the time to hog a lot of the material out of the back, and throw a few ribs in to keep it strong. Obviously they are heavier than the plastics, but they still do not weigh as much as people would guess.

Are they just for looks? Or do they actually do some purpose?

I'm not sure I understand the question, they are beadlocks, they lock the bead of the tire to the wheel, and yes, they look good (at least IMO). The inner beadlocks are also aluminum which helps to stiffen the plastic wheel. That is less of an issue now since the HPI wheels have had a good revision to their structure. They also help to solve the rubbing if you are not running axle extenders.

Not really, all those holes let it come right back out. The OMF style are actually worse at holding the dirt/sand in, but even they are not all that bad, and, they give this great spiraled flinging effect in sand -

For those that want a more low profile look and zero retention of stuff, we have th B&T models coming out probably by end of next week-

Here is another pic. I also wanted to commend darksoul racing on the great job with the beadlocks, as you can see from the picture he posted - they are of incredibly fine quality and craftsmanship.

They are all pretty much shown in this thread, the OMF style which are actually licensed by OMF (they do full size beadlocks and wheels), the "Originals" which are the ones with the holes around the perimeter and the B&T's which are due out in a week or 2. They are available in several colors.

Those look really great! Makes me wish I could use 'em. Gluing tires not only sukks but it seems that the glue only comes off easy when it's at the most inopportune moment. Great job on the extra milling to reduce the weight too. I may just have to get adapters to fit baja wheels on my FG!
