Default firehammer starting problem

hello members,

I just bought a firehammer off ebay. wasnt ran around but said it had been started thought. I have had rc's in the past and have a couple electrics. I have tried staring this thing till i got a blister. Tried choke and non choke. Adjusted high and low stettings. I believe 1 1/2 high and 1 1/4 low. Now i noticed the exhaust has a bunch of fuel in it. So i drained it. Even took it off. It almost started the first couple times i tried. I let it sit for an hour tried again. I have the right mixture 1/25. Check plug and its sparking. What else is there to do?? Does or has anyone had problems starting this motor 23cc ???

thanks in advance

Ace

Check the idle screw as well, screwing it in will open the carb up more...I think...I haven't had to mess with mine much.

My shot in the dark advice is to check the ignition coil. It should be only the thickness of a buisness card between the flywheel and coil. I have had my muffler fill up with fuel before from trying to start it, in my case it was a bad compression ring. You might also make sure the head is tightened down on the crank case. Good luck. The thing about these 2 stroke engines is that when you have an issue it could be any combination of about 15 different things. To me: it's all good experience. [sm=49_49.gif]

ignition coil? Where is the ignition coil located. And why check it if im getting spark? Just tryed again and nothing. I also backed off the idial screw. Still seems like its getting lots of gas. Hummm Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
