Breakin procedure help!
Well I have a Baja on it's way. What break in procedure should I be doing? What oil-fuel ratio should I do for break in process? I will be using Klotz Techniplate Oil...

RE: Breakin procedure help!
ONE TANK or about half an hour runtime, just take it easy, don't baby it, but don't give it long WOT runs either, then on the second tank or toward the end of the first, tune and let her rip. This is what all the hobby shops and racers I have spoken to say.
As for rings and seating, that's not the only factor. (Real) cars have pistons and rings and they have to be run-in. It's not so much a question of necessity as a sensible precaution to let the oil work it's way round the system, all the parts bed in, etc. It's not a break in as such, it's just a good idea to take it easy on the first tank.

Alright, so during the first couple tanks I should run it at 25:1. Then what ratio after that? I thought you don't change ratios as it was like nitro and their percentage (in a way).

RE: Breakin procedure help!
does no harm to take it easy for the at least the 1st tank... personally i ran mine in over 2 to 3 tanks only because i was used to doing it with nitros. Some say you need to change the piston ring after run-in etc! , again i havent & had no probs.
the 1st couple of tanks my MB did seems sluggish, but on the 3rd she was ready to rock!

Whatever you say dude... Like I said I haven't tested it, but the gas is not designed to make a diffrence in 2-stroke single cylinder engines, it's designed to make a difference in 4 stroke multi cylinder engines with 100 times the displacement.

NO, there is no difference in power, all a higher octane does is lower your combustion chamber temperatures. Some people take placebos and feel better. LOL

I feel that Shell gas runs better than Phillips 66 gas. So, if he says he can feel a difference, I believe him, but, there's no telling what the real reason for the quality difference is.

Just something to think about - Although running in isn't all that important, the first ring on a new engine doen't last as long as a replacement according to various engine tuners I've spoken to.
