Default Baja Onboard Video Action at the Beach

Playing around with my new toy.
This was the first run of the day trying to get the mounting figured out.
By the end of the day we got some great shots.

I dunno but it should be mounted in some gel or foam for some proper vibration isolation, i can see the image stabilizer is working overtime in it.

Looks like you had fun ed, amusing choice of music.

Here is some more onboard footage shot by a bashing buddy Jason Lee.

We are working trying to isolate the vibration.
I have had 3 other on board cameras and by far this one is the best one yet.
All the others would cut out under impact.

Put some horsepower under the hood and it does vibrate.

Ya long term it will probably kill the camera. Generally PCB's don't like vibration, thats why our receivers are mounted on foam and good servo's come with rubber isolation grommets.

Definatly something you'll have to add if you want your investment to have a reasonable life. And the video footage will be alot better.

I think the camera is more apt to die from a rollover or a severe crash rather than from "vibration".

The footage is great. Driving over sand with a 2 cycle strapped to a hunk of aluminum is going to bounce around. I don't care what kind of camera you have strapped to it. Plus, he isn't out making a movie, it's for fun.

Sure, it'd actually be good if was mounted under the front window, would be better protected there. Vibration will kill alot of electronic devices over time, the ones i already mentioned and cameras have been known to go bad with that as well, but i agree, mounting the camera the way its been done is asking for trouble.

I know Ed is just having fun with it but he's also marketing the same thing as an RC product which as far as i can see will have issues with all the points already mentioned.
