Gear Slipping
How do you adjust the mesh between the gear on the lay shaft and the diff gear on a FG Monster Truck? When I go over little bumps and runts while getting up to speed I can hear two gears slipping on each other and I think it is these two. They have a little wear on them and they are the only two steel gears that mesh together so it must be them making the noise, right?

RE: Gear Slipping
loosen up your engine motor mounts (4 bolts the underside of the chassis)
slip a piece of paper thats doubled over in betweeen the layshaft pinion and the diff ring gear,.
Now pull the engine back to the rear of the chassis and tighten up the motor mounts.
If using the stock plastic mounts/ screws....use a couple drops of super glue on the screw... (thread lock for plastic)
the alloy motor mounts are a good upgrade
Also you might check to make sure the bearings on your gear carrier is OK....that will also create slop in your layshaft/diff gears
