Protection for FG's 2 speed transmission???
Hi,
I would like to know how can I protect my 2 speed transmission? The outer gear wheel (48T) hit the lower rear arm almost every time I jump with the car, as a result the teeth on wheel just brakes!! Please look at the pictures below and see what I mean, I used this gear wheel only for 2 tanks!
I know that there is no case for the 2 speed transmission (like the transparent plastic one for the stock gear), I saw one aluminum cover on eBay that someone made but it was ~80$!!!!

FG makes a lexan cover, which as you say is for the single speed. I dunno how much extra clearance it would need to clear the two speed, but you could shim it with washers or gaskets, and use an old lexan body or the cut off waste from a lexan body to extend the skirt to the proper position. In a ny case, the lexan cov er is a cheap part to experiment with. HTH.

I believe that using metal upper and lower arms stops the flex and saves your gears.
I thought they hit the top arm, not the bottom....
When you put the suspension through full travel on the bench, do they hit the gears then?
