I doubt it, but thats what you get when you only pay 500 for it. I will be replacing the radio gear after I get it.

Too lazy to read but that is a Kingmotor buggy. Sorry if its been said already...

It has a failsafe, it uses 5 Sub-C sells (I think thats what they are. Like the ones in the 7.2v Sticks)

Yes it does. After you said this I went out to test it. It is horrible. It does not apply the breaks it just simply moves the throttle to nuetral. After this I put my own failsafe on it and it worked. I used the OFNA mini.

Although it's a great deal if you can find it for $550 shipped, one has to spend some extra $$ to get the 6V battery pack, charger and a good fail safe.

That's atleast $60-$80 extra. Keeping that in mind, I saw 2 new HPI Bajas on eBay for $900 shipped.

"The radio systems on any RTR from the factory....might as well through them away get a spectrum DX3 radio system"

I dont dought it, but at that point your incurring additional cost because you want better performance (control) vs. HAVING to buy sertain things like the battery pack, charger, and fail safe that are thing you really need to spend the $$ on.

Again, the clone seems great to me I'm just seing that the HPI RTR Baja may be $275-$300 more shipped and you get the real thing.... ?! [sm=71_71.gif]

Just to update on my compairison to the Baja5......

The RTR baja clones comes with a 2000mah battery (hump pack) a wall charger, spare air filter, tools, decals, everything is a exact copy of the baja5 ...So all parts for hpi can be used so can all hopups....even the radio tray is the same.....

I'm actually suprized there is no 5-10% difference at all [X(]

The type of plastic used for the molds is the only difference I can find between the 2

No Failsafe

And, not criticizing the clone but let me ask you this, in your opinion do you think it's work the now relatively small $$ difference.

On eBay there's a supplier that is selling the HPI Baja for $850 + $50 in shipping, $900 in your hands vs. the clone (in black) has been going for $560 + $150 in shipping, that’s $710 plus one has to buy a good fail safe for that beast, so your looking at $750....that's a $150 difference?![:-]

I'm all about good quality imitations but do you guys (hellya) consider it's worth the money. $150 buys you some good accessories, but you still don’t have the original...?! I’ll get one or the other, but I which the clone was significantly less priced so that I would feel it’s a much better buy…
