Default Is this a good deal? for large car

I recently visited the SV speedway with my son and was amazed at these large scale rc cars. I've never seen them in person on a track. I went to a local hobby shop ehobbies (very nice people) they don't cary these size rc cars. So i looked and found another local place with a car that is very cheaply priced. I'm not looking to spend alot, but i don't want to spend alot on hop-ups, i have a nitro car that i've spent enough on. but does anybody run this XRC brand. The people at the track had fg, harm, and a hpi baja.

This is the place i found on line.:[link=http://www.fgsupply.com/product.cgi?group=93466&product=93467]http://www.fgsupply.com/product.cgi?group=93466&product=93467[/link]

Yea, that seems like a really good deal actually... I'm considering buying one myself now to add to my collection lol. On another note, this hobby is expensive, a lot more expensive than your nitro car was and I have a feeling you will be getting what you pay for with that XRC as most of our cars run in the $1000.00 range. You also should consider if you want an offroad or onroad vehicle. Right now, the offroads are more popular and there is more parts availability. The Baja 5b is a GREAT vehicle for a beginner, as are the FG's, as are all of them really. There are "clones" of both products. Your price to get in to the name brand will be about $1100 to be fully up and running. If you went the clone route you could be up and running for about $750 or so. There are plenty of topics on clones in this forum, just do a search for that.

Hopefully someone can give you some positive information on that XRC.

For $299 to mess around with, go for it. I wouldn't pay more than $400 for an XRC car though.

But like I said, at $299 you'll enjoy it for sure. Parts arent too hard to find if you do need them, and on-road cars don't break as much anyway.

If I had the money I would buy one of those. Just to say I own 2 1:5 scales. Tempting.

Probably not. Says ARTR (Almost Ready To Run). But hey, its an excuse to buy that nice radio system I've been wanting.

Is the buggy just the clone of the HPI?? It looks different though and the wheelbase specs show it to be shorter.

I went to fg supply to see the buggy yesterday. I got one on hold I have to wait until monday to pick it up, payday! for $299 you can't beat it. Now I need a reciever ans servos. They had servos at FG supply but pretty expensive. Is there anything else you guys reccomend? They have all the stock parts at the store. So i'm not worried about breaking. Does any know if there are some options available?

Hmmm my girlfriend wants an RC car to learn on, may get her one of these. Anyone know if FG short wheelbase bodies fit on that?

No ,its a 535mm chassis ,You will need a 535mm long wheel base body to go on the XRC.
