    NEED HELP ENGINE 23CC

    right... here we go i have a fg marder with a zen 23cc what happens is after about 3 mins running if i full trotal it the engine revs on its own lol pulsing the throtal the larsting i ran it even thow i had the card full open the engine was pulcing from a high idle back to a high rpm back to a high idle and so on
    i have no idear why please help

    Hi,
    you have either got interferance, or maybe you have an air leak, one of your gaskets might be knackered, see if everything is tight, the head carb etc.
    Also check wether your choke is on

    lool the choke if it is on kills the engine instaltlly as far as i know all gaskits are good and its tight about the interfirance i was holding the carb open with my finger to make shure it was not that and other idears(is that a sign on over heating) as its my first petrol i dont know the signs ) or fuel? ill try some fresh fuel but i dont thinks its that

    no its not the servo i have spektrum when i tested it i pulled the throtal open my self so that eliminates the servo/radio

    just standin there workin the servo dont mean that when its underway with all the vibrations and rf ( radio interference) thrown off by the plug thats its gonna be ok.
    whether you use spektrum/am/fm etc etc. problems arise once moisture or dust is involved.
    do a walk away radio check...
    start car and have a buddy hold it. turn your back to the car pointing antennae away from the car start walking away and see how far you get before a servo starts glitchin, if its the throttle servo you will probably have to replace it

    First I would start to richen it up on the high end needle. The worst damage you can do is a fouled plug, but it sounds like your running a little lean. How many turns out are your needles high and low?

    I think the symptoms point to the head gasket. Erratic throttle response.

    right the needle setting for the high end is 1 and 1/2 i think thats not 2 bad the way i tuned it was hold thw wheels off the ground pull full throtal and lean it up till you get the max rpm then richen it up about 1/8th of a turn but im shure iv alwaise had it a little richer than that
    if it is a head gaskit would u notice oil leakage because there is none

    edit: ps when i richend it up it got worse but that could have been because it was alredy overheating?

    I would think you would see black stuff around the head. But maybe not necessarily.

    here i think this is the exorst can you tell?
    i think it was over heating i reset the needle and then tunes it a little

    here are some pics of the leak i think its the exorst , is it?

    ps how do you tune the engine with out it over heating?

    Looks like the an exhaust leak. I don't think that is the source of your throttle problem though.
    I tune them by starting out rich and leaning it up a little at a time.

    to tune an engine on the run only make 1/8th turns on the needle.

    now run the vehicle for a few minutes and check the plug color

    black tip is too rich

    white tip too lean

    tan or slightly darker is what you want

    what we used to do with our gas planes is... turn needle in at full throttle till the engine drops rpm (goes lean) now back needle out to highest rpm... then fatten mixture ( turn needle out/richen ) till it drops a couple hundred rpm... you are good to go

    i still think its a radio problem

    it cant be a radio problem i just got back in with it i tested it by turning the radio off totally then doing throtal by hand it was a little better today keeping its rpm but some times it did start to rev up and down but after about 3 mins it would stop agin rely wird could it be fule flow can i ask because the primer bulb is starting to empty its self after 10 mins then the idle speed it going up as well but its not the fuel filter
    do you know if the yellew fuel line the one u see fuel going thoew it when you press the primer bulb does that have to be able to suck fuel up like the black line?

    and if the primer bulb is empty if i "reprime the engine" the idle is back to normal

    hi Karl .. the next time this issue happens bring machine back and leave it running and then crack the fuel tank and it might be a venting problem even if the tank is vented it might not be getting enough air .. or run it around with tank cracked on a flat surface ..

    Hi guys,

    Let me intro first, my name Shaik from Penang, Malaysia. I bought 1/5 RC Ford TRUCK using 23cc engine. I'm having a same problem such other friends face. For my case after I tune the L and H as 1 1/2 its start run BUT my car will STOP it self after run about 1 min. I'm really confuse and don't know what to do. I had tune the L and H and also the engine timing. I notice the pluq colour dark brown and also had change the plug before. Once its stop I unable to start engine again and need to WAIT almost few hours before start again. PLS HELP since my country no one using this kind of R/C car !....

    I really dissopointed since no one can help me...

    My gas mixture was 25/1 as per request

    help me PLEASE ....
