Things have changed.

I have NEVER dis-liked the FG products and never discussed how great the Baja 5B is but if you go back 2 years and read the posts here, the FG guys dominated, and there was some very hot flame wars here when the FireHammers and Bajas came on the scene.

What happened?

I am honestly beginning to believe that 2wd is more fun anyway at this scale. The 4wd cars just go where you point them. No skill required, plus power loss through the additional drivetrain... it'll be a while before I look into another 4wd since I already have the thunderbolt. I'm interested to see how far I can take that, and if even with a hot mill and pipe, if it will be as much fun as the 2wd FG or the Baja, which require fine control on the power and can do wheelies pretty much on command.

Very much looking forward to a review from one of you rich hobbyists.

I kinda agree with foxy, there is something thrilling and exhilarating about 2wd.

I'm to for the 2wd largescales.
There just more fun to drive.
Doing donuts wheelies drifts en those giant sand rooster from the rear wheels of the cars just make 'em cool![8D]

I to some degree agree that the 2wd is more fun.

Here is a manual I found on the new FG 4X4, it shows the details of their new drive set up.

excellent find pwaicon, I reaqd it front to back interesting, looks like it wouldn't be a big deal to convert a standard FG Monster-NOT. I like my FG 2wd it is lots of fun that way.

I like that manual, it shows everything, see they can do it.

I would like my FG MB Pro manual to look even a little like that. LOL

FG sure did their homework this time, front universal drive shafts, that machine has the best of everything FG offers. I like it.

I have always liked the look of the FG Baja buggy, I think it is the driver, but I prefer 4wd over 2wd. This might be a good candidate for me to finally own an FG if the belt system proves itself reliable. I think I will wait and see how the belt system holds up, it doesn’t look to easy to change if it were to break.

They won't release it if it has a problem. I might be made to eat my words, but it's not like FG to release something that isn't working properly, or standing up fine to normal use. It's been many years in development this kit, I hope they finally got it nailed too.

This is the same company that puts plastic spur carriers in the cars knowing they won't last 5 minutes. I hope you don't have to eat those words also Foxy but they would have to be really good machines to make me purchase another FG.

well from what i have been told and read its the exact same type of set up as the lauterbacher megacross and the guys that are driving that love the set up where the 4wd kicks in for corners at low revs and then you have 2wd when its high revs hence why you can get a 4wd lauterbacher fg baja

The 4x4 FG baja are on the way into the states. Retail is $3600 or so. But its all alloy and offered only as a kit.

We can build you one, no problem. Let us know
