Nobody is really sure yet. Wait and see what the reviews of the Rampage are like, I expect they are both good cars.

I would base the decision on parts support, keeping that in mind smartech are not looking good.

Well after seeing all those pics of the new rampage to me its a bitsa car. The diffs look like the smartech titans while the gear drive set up is off a MCD and the brakes look like baja 5b's. So it will be interesting to see how good the truck / buggy's are or last.

the way to set the rampage mt up for me is a chrome 28.5cc with a x-box pipe. put a spektrum dx2 control system in it and changed the servos to hitec 5745 for both. changed the gears to 27/33 mcd gears work on this set up. 25's stay the same. still has good pop and great top end speed. the only problem so far is the shocks need a collar with set screw. make sure to give the shaft a flat spot where the set screw will go. this will keep them from blowing out that c clip that are junk. nice truck for the $$$. but after the hop ups pretty spendy. $1700 to make it rock. all in all nice unit for a 4x4

The titan i put the spektrum control system and a jetpro pipe and still its a smartech just not great. the gears i found if you fill the gears with rtv sealent helps the noise alot.

go with the redcat better all the way around

I don't know for sure, but on one of the other forums it was mentioned that the Rampage has front and rear diffs similar to the Baja 5B diff.

redcat rampage- cheaper(400), has hit the market prety hard with many hop ups already available, great customer support, comes with a well known engine which has many headkits available, original (not a clone)

smartech titan-has been in the market for a bit and is reputed to be a decent truck if you spend a lot of money.

The Rampage looks like a copy of Baja, MCD and Titan. It's still not a proven chassis yet. I say go with the Smartech Titan. Review by many people and you will know you will have good performance for the money.

the chassis on the rampage are much better then the titan. thicker and the chassi sides turn up for better stability. the titan has plastic sides and the chassi is flat easy to flex and sag. i have them side by side and rampage for the $$$ smokes the titan. plus the gears on the titan ring like a bell. small ports on the motor and crappy dog bone set up. there both sweet for the $$$. I'm betting on the rampage to make a big splash in the 4x4 rc game. enoy the hobby.[8D]
