Amongst mk1 and mk2 there are several versions,we have the original Escort mk1:
#1

Escort mk1 with widened arches:
#2

Escort mk2 with original arches(RS1800 version):
#3

Escort mk2 X-pack version:
#4

Escort mk2 RS2000 with droop snot-front:
#5

Escort mk2 RS1800 widened arches:
#6

If you want to make the Escort RS Cosworth WRC i wouldnt get mad either
#7

Maybe we can use these numbers on the pics to vote with, colours, well,i dont know.I prefer white on the mk1 and mk2,but blue is also a favourite

Do you really mean that you can produce these bodies if you get the license?Hope you make it a bit more realistic and detailed than the Mustang bodyThe wheelbase of the original Escort is 2390 mm,that means that the wheelbase on the 1/5-bodies should be around 480 mm,but that is not gonna be an easy task since the onroad chassies are 535 mm wheelbase.

Those are hot cars in Europe? [:'(]
Seriously though, those are desirable there? They look like economy cars.

Well, maybe different wiews when it comes to cars around the world...These Escorts was made between 1968 and 1980(except the Escort WRC from 1992 and up),i like them cause they have a certain bit of soul unlike these modern computerdriven cars nowadays. In my eyes theyre hot, yes!

LOL! 30 years ago, these were the best cars on the road. When you guys were making tanks with 9 litre engines that literally couldn't go round corners, these cars were dominating european rally tracks with 2l engines and 400hp.

It's about history.

Actually I owe Cal-torque an apology. It's an unfortunate twist of fate that Canada ended up bordering what became the USA, and therefore have mostly American cars.

And also, don't get me wrong, some of the worlds great classics came from the US, hell, the car was invented there. Somewhere along the way they lost the ball on motorsport and driving pleasure though, while a few select US marques continued to produce cars that would become classics (AC, Chevrolet (Corvettes), Dodge (with the Viper) Ford (with the Mustangs, which are a bit 'tanky' too, but beautiful and fast) and recently Saleen). Truth is, in the modern age, Japan has left us all standing looking at our history and saying what great cars we USED to make, while they just got on with it and did it better than all of us.

With a bit of luck, I'll be taking delivery of a Honda S2000 in late November, after my previous 5 cars were all VWs.

S2000 eh? Thats a very nice car, and they rave about it on Top Gear. But on topic, the silver and black mustang is the best.

This is really interesting actually.
In North America, we wouldn't give those cars a second look.
Escort was the college student or grandma car. No offense.
My generation was muscle cars...GTO, Mustang, Camaro, etc.
I have a 71 Swinger in my garage with a 440 shoehorned in.
For newer muscle, I'm looking at a 2005 SSR.
The rally cars are pretty cool though. As Foxy says, it really depends on your geographic location as to what is ingrained in your brain as "classic".

It's an unfortunate twist of fate
Interesting way of putting it! Russia would have already blown us to bits if it wasn't for the US. As you probably know, we do have British heritage as well. It's really a melting pot...quite progressive in accepting different cultures.
A lot of vehicles are manufactured in Canada, but of course, they're US, European, or Asia owners... Calgary itself is fairly wealthy due to oil, and there are quite a few right drive imports. I don't recall ever seeing a Euro Escort though (the car )

PS My daily driver is a Jetta 2.0T
Best Mexican car I've ever had...
They promote them as European "engineered".
Seriously, great car so far.

As far as the rally races, they are very entertaining. However, the crowd is insane. Usually, I just see clips of them getting mowed down as they stand alongside the track. It's like a bull run with cars.

Thats my man!!

I've done a bit of thinking,if everything shall be in harmony and fit a 535-chassis,the car must be made in 1/4,5-scale with wide arches. The original car is 3940 mm's longX1570 mm's wide, and the wheelbase is 2390 mm's.

Take the wheelbase,2390 mm's,divide it with 4,5 and you get 531 mm's,which is very near the 535 mm's wheelbase.

Then you take the width,1570 mm's,divide it with 4,5 and you get 349 mm's.If you have the wide arches which builds about 15 to 20 mm's on each side, you'll end up with a width of total 379 mm's using the 15 mm's arches, this will suit an MCD-chassi for example. But you can always stretch it a bit the one or the other way to make it fit, somethings gotta give you know

Well, thats my thinking.Have been thinking too much, just got an headacke

OK SMARTTECH........... seriously....
*** is that abomination you are calling a '68 Stang body?

IF FORD gave the "OK" for that to be a licenced body, they are seriously smoking some good dope or something, because it looks nothing like a 68. More like some 2010 "concept" revamp of it. Your body lines are way off.

http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...+Mustang&gbv=2

EDIT: and Silver. It is much better and fitting of a color.

Yeah the front of that thing is hidious ..

+1 on that... the only thing that makes it a mustang must be the horse on the grill

Too bad the F1 and other open wheel boys cant compete in "carussel" racing. They love to dish out how easy nascar is, but when they have been thrown into an american stock car, their contract generally gets killed mid season because the driver sucks. F1 is predictable... its almost 100% that a Ferrari driver will end up with a podium finish, and the other drivers are pretty much field fillers... on top of that, most of the people drop out of the races or off the pace.

'Field fillers'? Seems to me the last time you saw a grand prix must have been 10 years ago... It's interesting and close this season, with BMW pushing McLaren out slowly... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/moto...gs/default.stm

It's not surprising that the best drivers win consistently in a race of skill, as opposed to luck. It's because they are the 'better drivers'.

No-one said NASCAR was easy, just incredibly boring. As for cancelling their contract, well, by the time they get to a point where they are willing to try NASCAR, they are over 40 and have no ambition left. Why do you think it's something they do to fill the time? Because they're not good enough to drive F1 anymore. Besides, you think a Nascar driver could complete a lap of monaco in an F1??? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Anyway, enough now. Everybody knows Europe has the better motorsport and the better cars. It's not an insult in any way, I'm not saying Europeans are better. There are hundreds of things you guys do much better than us. Cars and motorsport, not one of 'em though, sorry, it's a fact. You guys still produce great drivers though, look at motogp. Shame the domestic manufacturers don't give your great drivers a machine they deserve.
