RE: FG F1 Ferrari & Lauterbacher Super Cross
Thanks for the compliments guys. I said I would never buy one just to have as a shelf queen but that is what it has turned into. I have not found anywhere around here to be able to run it. This is the Sportline model with almost all the options except carbon chassis and modded motor. The engine is the stock 23cc fg solo with a Samba F1 pipe. The pipe has been coated inside and out with a special ceramic coating .All the side plates are carbon fiber as is the rear wing. Magura hydraulic brakes front & rear. Hi Tec servos.ETC. We all seam to go over board with all the hop ups.
The Super Cross has seen plenty of use and still running strong. The engine is a Zen 26cc w/RN Tuning air filter. The front hydraulic brakes are Lauterbacher twin pistons. The rear differential has the 2x self locking model (no one leg spinning)HiTec servos also.
Here all a few photos of the F1.

Hey Junkyarddog, Incredible vehicle you got there!!! I know how the FG F1 runs.... I have the basic stock FG F1 with the only upgrade of vented front cable-type tuning disc brakes. The dynamics and physics of the handling are very similar to the real one as the scale is respectably 1/5th.
Did you get the Ferrari decalswith the car or did you buy them separately?LasttimeI inquired from the FG dealers in the USA, they advised FG removed Ferrari tag due to excessive royalties demanded by Ferrari company. Also, do you expect the wind deflector panels on the sides to improve performance or perhaps it is more cosmetic than pragmatic.
You may have already seen my FG F1 photos: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7534000/tm.htm
Enjoy the ride, dude.

Your Red FG F1 Ferrari body paint looks cool with the black detailing. Did you vent your body at the airbox opening?
I purchased the decals on e-bay. They are the 2001 championship car. I don`t believe they sell them anymore. As far as the barge boards are concerned with my limited on-road experience I would not be able to tell the difference with them on or off. Maybe a pro would be able to tell you. I like the realistic look of them . From what I have read a good set of tires and tuned piped make the biggest difference in performance from the stock settings.

I've managed a trick I did when I had my FG's. Use a 39mm tunrbuckle instead of the 32mm. This way I can get thread into more plastic.
Are you changing your ball drives shafts to longer ones? The FG axles and diff cup may not be the same lenght.

RE: FG F1 Ferrari & Lauterbacher Super Cross
Here are pics of a large F1 car I found today on Yahoo Japan Auctions for 200,000 yen or about $2,040. The English in the auction text states "FG 1/5 F1" and "G260R". I had heard of the Serpent F180 car, but not the FG car. I suppose the FG is much larger? I did a Google search and found the FG web site http://www.fg-modellsport-gmbh.de/ha...3-formel1.html
I like your FG F1 car!
I'd like to see a pic one the FG F1 car next to a Serpent F180 car, to see the size difference.
I like this youtube vid of Serpent F180 racing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IO40vv-MFE
and this youtube vid of FG F1 cars racing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuSaaJI1anE

I love F1 racing and have some F1 RC cars but none large scale. I would LOVE to have one, one day. This is what I do when the weather is bad out side.

Your indoor track looks great,
could get crazy with all six cars running around it at the same time

That is just a little over half of the track as I do not have room to set the whole thing up inside. I all so have a couple 1/10 scale F1 cars.

Are you looking for sellers of the Kyosho in the US? A good place to start would be Kyosho of America. I have some sites but many have forums on them and is against RCU polices to list them. But I am sure a simple search on Google will take you to many of them. Here is the Kyosho America site.
