Tomorrow my engine for the MCD arrives, today the radio equipment for my sons Baja should get here!!

Thanks pwaicon, we really can't wait to get them going. My engine comes tomorrow so I will have everything in to get it ready. I am probably going to do the electronics tonight or in the morning. My son has to get his ready as well. I do not envy him right now, the Baja clone looks pretty tough to work on and he needs to get into the diff to regrease it.
I also have to say , I am truly impressed with the build quality of my MCD. They really put them together nicely. I tried to find something wrong with it from the factory, but TBQH, I could not even find any tool marks from assembly on any of the hardware. Truly top notch.
I am really battling with a paint scheme right now. Hopefully I figure something out soon. I want to do a bit of detailing, but do not want to make it look to busy.

Well the Baja is ready to go, still have not decided on a pipe yet so I will break it in with the stock can. Any pipe suggestions?
I went with the Zenoah 27 and some mods need to be done to make clearance for the drive shaft. You have to remove 3 fins and file away some material away.

Don't get the JP IMO every one seems to be running the Samba, I have one coming in the mail. I should have it this week I'll let you know how it works.
Car looks darn good. Mine doesn't look like that any more. [&o]

I thought about the Samba, but man that pipe is expensive.
I am actually considering the JP for the Evo III chassis. I had one on my FG MT with a Zen 26 and the pipe was great.
Any reason you do not like the JP?

I see what you mean about the pipe hanging. My FS pipe hangs like that but it is on a MT.
How does the Samba fit? Any body cutting needed? I hate having to cut bodies.

The JP's are great pipes. Seems many people make comments about them hanging out the rear, but it keeps alot of heat out from under the shell. Mine has been on for almost 2 years & it works great. Mine is a Gen.1 Baja1000, but I like the EVO3 mounting better. I just put one on my MCD Rally car. The samba mounts inside the body on the pull start side. This allows the cooling fan to have hot air to attempt to cool the engine with. They do work O.K., but for the price difference the JP is a great choice.
