In all my 1/5 RCs, I used Klotz Super Tecniplate 2 cycle oil and I mix a 25:1 ratio with pump gas. A lot of people run 32:1 with no problems, so either way is good I'm sure.

Some people say that it is better to use standard oil in the mix when breaking the motor in and then to use synthetic from then on. I used regular old 2-stroke oil found at Lowes with my last gasser and never had a problem.

I've even heard of people using vegetable oil...driving along smelling like fried chicken.

Royal Purple 2-stroke...kind of pricey, but works good in all engines

I broke my Baja in with the supplied Hpi Brand 2 stroke oil, after 2-3 tanks switched over to Klotz Techniplate... Good stuff and it smells good too

I broke mine in with the HPI stuff to and after the 2.5 liters was gone,I switched to Rock Oil 2 stroke fully synthetic,i'm a M/Cycle engineer so I have an account with Rock Oil and get the stuff at trade which is a fair bit cheaper than the normal retail King Cobra Venom fully synthetic by Rock Oil which isn't quite as good but any decent motor 2 stroke cycle oil will do the job.I used to use Castrol R1 Mineral 2 stroke oil years ago when I raced 2 strokes and that smelled awesome in my opinion and was second to none here in the UK at the time,Castrol A747 is good grade too and is popular here in England with the largescale modellers...
