Default Pics. of our weekend at the races

We have got a local QSAC 1/4 scale track to make a class for the HPI5b's. Two of the guys also race quarter scale cars as well. One of the guys has designed & builds his own model car, that does very well I might add. The Cat5Mfg Disruptor is a great winning race car in the QSAC series. I took a few pictures from last weekend & thought I would share them. Anyone interested in attending & racing can check the link on the bottom of this page. The track is located very near Indianapolis Indiana. I will also put a link to the 1/4 scale car, So anyone interested in it can get more info as well. It's a very fun weekend activity, as well as a great way to learn about racing.

These pics. are from last year. I haven't taken any still shots this year. Most of our races so far have been night races, so not real good for pics.. I don't get the chance to take stills or video of the buggys in action. Hard to drive & video at the same time

I was wondering what the speed of these cars are? I am interested in large scale but didn't know if they were bulky or if they get up and go. Sorry if this sounds ignorant.Just never really seen them in actio. Thanks![8D]

These cars can be extremely fast. An HPI 5bSS with the stock 26 cc engine will run 46m.p.h.. With other engines & gear combos, they are capable of well over 50m.p.h.. The MCD rally car you see in the pictures runs in the mid 50's now & can be geared to go over 60. On the quarter scale race cars. There are restrictions for them to 23cc. engines & the sportsman class even run a restrictor plate under the carb, like the NASCAR guys do on big tracks. With a big engine, with a pipe & no retrictions. Those cars can run I would say 80mp.h. +. They move out very good & are very realistic in driving. Here are a couple of videos to help give you an idea of how they run.
