How to protect bodies paint job?
Hi i just got a body shell for the FG Monster Truck painted, it hasn`t been coated underneath with anything and in some places the paint job is so fine you can nearly see throughit.
I read in a post recentley something about copydex or something, but can`t find the post, is there other stuff you can use to coat? Also is there any way you can protect the holes on the body that go over the body posts, with something?
Thanks
Guy

RE: How to protect bodies paint job?
Hi!
When i have painted my bodies i always use som backing.I use white, silver or black, these colours are not transparent,so they dont let sun or light shine through the body. Why do you want to protect the holes by the way?

Hi , i want to protect round the hole, the edges as these have the most wear and tear as you rub them against the body posts.
thanks

I used a drop of C.A. on the underside to keep them in place. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
You can even use rubber automotive trim (for car doors) along the edges of the body and wheel wells. I will have to be held there by C.A.

Hi thanks for the answers, i think i`ll give that grommett idea ago as our local electrical store sells boxes of assorted and as you say i will have to drill the holes a little bigger so the diameter is right for the posts.

These are great for protecting the body around the post. I use them on everything.

RE: How to protect bodies paint job?
after i paint all my 1/5thscale bodies I use "duct tape" to protect them from the inside. this way I know they will not be scratched up at all around the holes or from anything rubbing on the inside also
