lol.....I'd rather you do it than watch. I'll send it, you assemble it, and then return it. lol. The only trouble with the TS motors is no instructions. Fortunately there are a few guys around now who have done very helpful assembly threads. I'd hate to mess it up, but you can only sit looking at it so long. Although I loathe the term "bling" with a passion, they are certainly neat




Not sure if I ticked all the right boxes with the parts, but it's got 2mm stroker stuffer crank, Walbro 813 carb, standard flywheel, not sure on ignition yet, and the rest you can see (except for filters and all the little bits that came with it etc). Haven't picked up a clutch for it yet. Still looking at the best option.

Back in the early to mid 90's, I called Conley and inquired about possibly buying one of his engines and would like to see more info on it. As it turned out, a gentleman by the name of Lou Riccipio who lived in my area was shipped one to be "detailed" and built for one of his customers. They gave me Lou's contact info and I called him. He invited me to his home to see it. As it turned out, if you bought a Conley engine and wanted it assembled, it went to Lou to get done. Conley sold it as a "kit" that you built but some people were not capable of building it. So, I went to Lou's house. Lou did not have a house, he had a workshop that looked like a house! IT WAS AMAZING! Lou was a retired engineer/machinist who did work for Conley and Buddy L! To try to shorten this story, he showed me the engine AND the 32' Ford roadster he was doing for this customer. The engine was polished up like a chromed engine and was Supercharged. The roadster was fitted with hydraulic brakes, leather seat with springs in them. He even had it set up that when you turned the power on the car to "on", the license plate dropped down! Real work of art. At that time, he told me that his customer had $9,000.00 wrapped up in this thing. A couple months later, he stopped at my work and dropped off some "Polaroids" of it for me and informed me that the customer had not paid for it and it was for sale. If I didn't have a wife then, I would have owned it!!! If I can locate the photos, I'll scan em and post but they will be very low quality due to Polaroids.

Today $9000 is a lot of money to have tied up in an rc car, but back in the 90's it would've been considered even more with the wages what they were back then.
It's amazing how many of these type of cars (including the Conley Cobra's and the t-buckets) are out there but never see the light of day. People put them in their collections, and half the time they don't even realise that others on the net are interested in them.

Wonder why the car has 2 fuel tanks? One blue one red. Is one a coolant bottle? That's a cool car and can tell it was ran. The one I'm trying to find my pics of is a T-bucket.

The one in the back with black rocker covers I also grabbed from the same seller, but have no plans for it yet.

I put the headers off the black engine on the blown motor, where they should be, so might build something for that to go in one day. The spare blower was the item I was actually after.....and the motors came with it.

Not sure if you saw the ones on eBay recently. The one below just sold to our German based friend Typischdesign (Olivier). Ordinarily I would think $5-6000 would easily get you one of these with a Conley in it, but he's just managed to set a new benchmark for "stupid money". He paid USD11,100 for this thing, plus another one (the roadster I'll post below it) for USD5400. By the time they land in Germany he'll be into them for about $18000. For that sort of money you could get a nice steel one built. Just plain crazy. There's an old saying "a fool and his money are soon parted". Hmmmmm....you do the math.

The roadster.....USD5400 for a busted up body which looks like a coupe without the top on it rather than a roadster, and the car only had a Zenoah in it.
Everyone else who owns a WCM Ford must be happy today. Put them on eBay, you'll pay off your mortgage if Typischdesign starts bidding on them.

Final engine choice for the frame

I've always wanted to do a proper 1/4 scale 34 Ford frame in mild steel, just in a C-section like the original rather than boxed.
Made a start on a practice one today to see if it's possible. This is just the right-hand outer rail. The inner rail is cut out, and just needs to be pressed.
