Thanks for the inquiry. The 1/4 scale body has been at the painters for months now. I contacted him a few weeks ago and he promised to get back on it. As far as the actual '34 Bonneville roadster is concerned, work is progressing and hope to shake it down at El Mirage dry lake in May.

I haven't done much to the Coupe. Still playing with bodywork to get it right, and picked up a little 327 Conley on Bunte Auctions for $1500. It was new unused so I thought it'd look good in the '34 frame.

Bought this thing off Pete (a member here) a few weeks back. Have since pulled the drag tires off it and put a Skellenger under the rear, with standard GN goodyears on black steel rims. Was thinking about running the Conley in it but I think it'd be better in the '34 frame.

I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Ernst Zemann from Vienna, AUSTRIA - no, not Australia - we don´t have Kangaroos here! *g*

I´m 50.
For 33 years I´ve been into boatbuilding and -designing them - therefore I´m also familiar with fibreglassing and mouldbuilding of every kind.
I started my apprenticeship as a shipwright when I was 16.

Due to several bodyproblems - as well as a burnout-syndrome - I had to retire 4 years ago.

I had also been into rc-boatbuilding since I was a kid.
I´m not new to rcuniverse at all, but new to this specific section here.

Models shown are made of carbonfibre/epoxy resin - plans/calculations have all been done by myself as well.

Regarding hobby purposes I decided it´s time for a change.
I´ve been silently reading here in this forum for quite some time by now.

For years I wanted to build either a´32 Ford Highboy or a ´34 Ford 3-Window Coupe at
1/4 or 1/3 scale, but never found the time to do so.
I´ve also tried to get all technical datas - all frame- and body-dimensions - for some time allready. But I´m still missing a lot.

I could be interested in buying stuff like quarterscale frames and fibreglass bodies +
I´m dreaming to buy one of these sweet conley engines,
but also would be willing to build complete bodies/frames/moulds, etc. all by myself.

Is there any chance you could help me out with informations, links, etc.?
And furthermore - should I do it at 1/4 or 1/3?

Mate the best place for information on Quarter Scale (1:4) cars is the forum on QuarterScaleLegends. You'll find founder Mike C very helpful.
With regard to the choice of 1/4 scale or 1/3 scale, with the 1/4 scale size you'll find a few available bits and pieces already, so you won't have to make everything. Wheels etc are redily available from Todd at BRP (Bishop Racing Products). There aren't many people out there doing 1/3 scale so you'd have to fabricate nearly everything yourself. Besides that, the Conly engines are a neat fit into 1/4 scale.

If you need any dimensions on the '34 Ford frame send me a PM and I'll email every dimension you'll need.

If you start fabricating parts we'd all love to see them. Post up some pictures.

Hello there,
frame dimensions would be helpful, allthough I allready got some stuff.

But mainly I would need body dimensions of all kinds.
Do you have plans of ´32 and ´34 Fords?

View from top and from side would be great!
As said I´m also very interested in all sorts of ´32 Fords.

You know - Roadster, Highboy, 3-Window and 5-Window Coupe -
even the Pheton-version would be nice.

But actually I´m tending more to the 1/3 scale.
Even if I have to build all by myself.
Especially the frame(s) could be done in carbonfibre quite easily by myself.
And I don´t mind building two or even several complete new plugs and female moulds for later serial production.

Unfortunately I don´t have much experience with steel or alloy.
I can´t weld and I have no idea of soldering, CAD or CNC manufacturing.
I´ll have to do it from my knowledge/experience as a shipwright,
but I got time enough to learn.

PS: Regarding the added pictures:
Some time ago I bought this vintage 1/8 kit of the ´32 Ford roadster/Highboy,
which is only three years "younger" than I am -
I was born ´60 and the kit is a ´63 release! -
It´s allmost done by now.

I also aquired two more kits of the same big scale 1/8 MONOGRAM model,
one moulded in black - the classic ´32 Hotrod color -
and the other one even in WHITE, which was a special edition for the 75th anniversary!

But: the white colored one will be spraypainted in NEON- or LIME-GREEN -
Just like in the pics I will show you in the next post.

As you will see, I´m still mixing ´32 Ford and ´34 Ford Hotrods,
as well as Rat Rods, 3-Window and 5-Window Coupes -
just because I still can´t decide which one I like most! *ggg*

My main problem right now - there is this very precise 1/8 model of the ´32 Ford,
but no big scale model of the ´34 Ford seems to be available!

I allready got two identical 1/16 models of the ´34 Ford 3-Window coupe -
but none at 1/8 scale, to get all the single dimensions as precise as possible.

As said before, I´m still collecting datas.
So this project is still in the preparation stage.

Wheels/rims/tires are from full size Bambini Gokarts -
unfortunately a bit too big for the 1/3 scale model.
I´m still looking for wheels which have the precise size I need.

The 1/3 ´34 Ford Hotrod itself is/will be:

Length: 140cm long,
Height: about 52 cm high,
Width: 56-60cm wide - depending on the wheels and the fenders
I will have to build to fit them.

At least from the datas I have for now.

I´m open for every kind of input you can give me.

There is also the option to build the ´32 Ford at quarterscale -
and only the ´34 Ford at 1/3 , as there is allready an existing 1/4 ´34 Ford body -
I just would need to get one, to make a new female mould from it.

Oh yes, I forgot to say - the wheelbase for the ´34 Ford at 1/3 is 94.8 cm!
I´m definitely willing to give this project all time and efforts it deserves,
to become a high end product - no matter how long it will take me.

I have all necessary plans by now to build my own one in 1/3 scale.
I might even sell some - again, depending on the price I can get for it.
