Default Cans / containers for petrol

Jerry cans/containers for petrol are around $20,i have a few empty nitro plastic containers laying around, that used to have 4 litres of nitro fuel in them. They are dry, would it be advisable to put petrol with the oil in these container,or would it pollute the petrol or maybe the platic container would deteriate?
Also do you guys used unleaded or leaded fuel?

I guess the nitro plastic containers wont handle the pressure that builds up when storing regular fuel,it will look like a ballon and eventually explode.I use unleaded fuel, and you must use appropriate containers that is meant to be used to avoid accidents

+1 THAT'S A FACT. I use a 5L jerry can, one of the new ventless ones that are a b1tc# to pour out of.

I have one of those, carries enough fuel and it has a hand pump. Good enough for me and less than $50.

It will not explode as in igniting the fuel, but as blowing the container by the air pressure that builds up,resulting the fuel to pour out where you dont want it.Dont save money by using a milk container to store fuel in
