RE: home built rc truck
Hey Chevycowboy
I'm surprised your not looking for a chevy body.
I have not seen 1 in person yet and not sure of a make/model but here is a 1/4 scale pickup -[link]http://www.wcm-corp.com/bodies.htm[/link]. Just scroll down to see it.
The Truck bodies are (inside body) front bumper to rear bumper 44" and width is 19". Cab height is 11" and bed is 6-1/2". I could not find much in this size that appear to be quality, best I can tell these are.
As far as building a homemade rc truck what all do you want to design and build? Do you want to buy the best parts and pieces from other rc's or full, straight up, no other parts like these, build?
These questions will help you along the way so we all can help guide you.
There are quite a few threads on here ranging from a rc parts mix to mostly handmade machines.
Neither task can be taken lightly as they can both be very challenging in their own way. Let us know what you want and your thoughts on getting there and i'm sure everyone will pitch in where they can.

Hey there chevycowboy!Nice to see more people interested in making their own rc s!I think that it would be better to make it 1/5 or 1/6 scale so that you can have a bigger body selection. If you need any info or help on anything don't hesitate, and good luck with the project!
