First HPI Baja Nationals
I'm getting recovered from traveling & racing. It was a great time & Awesome event. Definitely want to thank everyone involved in making this happen. The absolute top drivers in the nation were in attendance. It was a pleaseure to have the opportunity to run with them. I wish I would have done a bit better, but to qualify for the C-main, when the went to "F" wasn't bad in my eyes. Here is the begining of my coverage of this event. I have tons to share, as soon as I get all of it up-loaded. Lets start with these :
And for a JD Gator video with Phatdad aboard. He cleared the double more than once !

Cool to see some largescale racing starting at your side of the pond.
Shame it is just 1 taste competing there instead of gathering as much as possible brands.
Are they not allowed to join?

Wow, I wish I was there. I bet it was as noisy as heck! Did you get a lot of passersby to stop and check out the noise? How many cars were there and how long were the mains?

RE: First HPI Baja Nationals
This special event was HPI sponsored & so it was all their brand racing. There were 2 classes for the buggys & the first ever 5t races. I would say there was around 70 buggy racers and possibly 15 trucks. For those in attendance Qualifying was Interesting to say the least. We were to qualify Saturday but had computer / timing system issues that prevented that. Sunday we ran 3 rounds of 10 minute possibly moved to 7 minute Qualifiers Then the mains. The mains to "C" were 10 minutes, with a 20 minute "B". From there it was the most amazing racing EVER 1 hour " A " mains with 1 manditory fuel stop. It was a Long day, but Extremely Action packed with Tons of Noise ! The location in Riverside Ca. Milestone has some Awesome MX tracks & many bike riders were Diggin' the R/C action. I must edit more, cause I have lots to show. It's a huge thing here in the US to have 1/5 scale being supported in this way. We plan to be involved in more events with the allowance of any 1/5 scale vehicles racing in different classes, allowing other MFGs to be supported as well.

RE: First HPI Baja Nationals
Cool and very nice pics !
keep them comin'
Also any vid of the racing main A final??
It is great to see large scale off-road racing is getting a start now in the US as well, excellent promotion by HPI.
When other makes will be allowed in an open largescale class (say similair format as we have here in Europe by EFRA) it would be superb.
We have here new regulations and made largescale were 1/6 and 1/5 go together in one race. there is nothing better then seeing likeminded people from different countries joining together in the same hobby having a great tim on and around the track. The best are always the stories in the evening when all racers meet and have a drink together
The more makes and pilots, the merrier!
Might when this will start and be open for foreigners even consider coming over with a few fella's for a good time together having fun with our babies in the dirt

RE: First HPI Baja Nationals
It's Very cool to hear the interest in traveling over for a race. We are looking at a possible deal of just that kind, With all Mfg's represented. I did get a few more on of my car at the event. I also got a video of one of my Friday practice runs up. Not bad for my first time really on a track like it ... The video is best viewed in high quality. We had a great time ! I just want more & it's supposed to snow here [>:]

RE: First HPI Baja Nationals
I didn't even know this was here... I had fun at the HPI Nationals. I want to thank my pit men Jason Ashton ( A main ) and Toby Robinson ( paint winner ) for the great pit work to get my Baja to win the National Baja Championship stock. I looked on the web site and found that if I were to race unlimited, I would have got second... And Thanks to A MAIN HOBBIES for thier support to get me there!
