Default Firehammer MT - Keep Failsafe in RX box or take out?

( just got my Firehammer MT this evening. Wow, it's big! And looks awesome. Can't wait to break it in.

At first I couldn't find the failsafe, but then looked inside the RX box and found it there. Should I run the failsafe outside the RX box?...so I can see the LED lights? Or leave it inside to protect it?

Thanks.

keep it how it is. i have a duratrax failsafe in my t-maxx and they are great. i ran my remote with low batteries and i set it to do brakes when it loses signal. if i went too far, it would stop every time. it's very reliable and i'm gonna use a duratrax failsafe in my kingmotor baja.

Thanks scarlet. The KM Baja is something I'm hoping to pick up in the future (when funds recoup).

Will do nitromarc! Sorry to hear about your shock, but I've heard DTX customer service is pretty good. Good luck! Hopefully I can start break-in this weekend. I hope I have time and that it doesn't rain. I'm charging the receiver pack today, but there's no indicator to tell when it's done, so I guess I'll just have to charge it for a while. I started pretty late tonight, so I'll probably have to disconnect it and reconnect tomorrow morning. So anxious! This combined with my recently completed BL-converted TTR ST-1 Truggy makes for too many toys that I don't have time to play with...but so much fun when I do...haha!

The charger's sources 600mA, but not knowing the capacity of the pack gives no indication of how long it will take. I don't like leaving batteries charging overnight, so I'll probably disconnect it before I go to sleep (I go to sleep late tho so it'll have a decent amount of charge time at least). I have another charger, but don't have an adapter for the plug that the pack uses, not yet at least. Ooh, I'm so anxious!

GL to you to nitromarc. Let me know how it goes and how it runs! I'll do the same if I can get it going tomorrow (well, it's really today now). Yeah, Tower's great with customer service. That makes the buying experience so much better.

I found marking on the pack that says 1800mAh NiCD. So with the charger sourcing 600mA, it should take 3hrs to charge a 1800mAh, I added 2hrs to that (5hrs) for the charge. I have to buy a gas container & some gas before I can do anything...not sure I have time today.

DuraTrax told me to charge for three hours. I was getting only twenty minutes or less of run time on battery. Bought the adapter for my peak charger and am now getting at least thirty minutes out of stock battery.

only half an hour of runtime? that kinda sucks.....my km baja only has a 2000mah NiCd pack so i wouldn't get any more than 40 min. out of mine.

makes me glad i got [link=http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.4271/.f]this[/link] for it. i should get a good 2+ hours out of it. the cells are ener-g which is another bonus. (btw, i ordered it last week and already have it but they are out of stock now[&:])
