Default 1st Elcon Cleon in North America?

I do believe so. I am now the proud owner of what possibly may be the very first Elcon Cleon in North America. I don't think any more words are needed here...

I will just say that I will keep updated progress both here and on my site where you will be able to follow the build progress and post build opinions. Pictures and even video's of it running will be added as I get there.

Thanks,
Alex

Congratulations, I am the first owner Elcon Cleon in South Korea. The car is very well engineered. I bought 4 months ago. I hope we can share information.

Another day has passed and still nothing in the mail for me. When it comes in I may just pull an all nighter and get it done! At least that if our newborn lets me!

My Cleon is coming with air brakes and I'm installing my 30.5 ESP, and a Spektrum DX3R. [8D][8D]

Nice job, Can you measure the weight of an exhaust pipe before install? Because I would like to know how much dirt is in the exhaust pipe.

As an Elcon manual said, when you install side guard, you would better have “home made strip†and put some silicon around side guards and a base plates so that no dust can get in.

Sure I will weigh the exhaust before I install it for you. Just the pipe or the full exhaust system?

Thank you.
Just pipe.

Just in case you didn't hear, Elcon just introduced new rear system. I think you are entitled to free upgrade.
Here is mail I got

EN:
A new rear-end will be launched for the Elcon Cleon.
Elcon will offer their customers a 1-time "upgrade yours" action.
More information can be found here:
http://team5hite.forumup.com/about1642-team5hite.html
An e-mail will follow as soon as the "upgrade yours" action will be started.

Yes I have heard. I keep in contact with Onno (owner of Elcon) and he told me he will send me the upgrade 2008 rear end for free.

Here is what he wrote me:

The upgrade concerns wishbones and the wishbone mounts. Once you see them you will understand the name.

You have to be patient though till mid/end of december before we have it finished + shipping to the US will take also some time I reckon around x-mas.

Just build and drive the car you now have or soon wil get.

kiyoung what did you do to line up the 2 steering servos perfectly? Did you have to reprogram them?

I got some more of the build done. Some problems here and there, but the major issue arose when I found out that my TS engine doesn't mount into this car due to the reed case. Looking for a new engine now.

Very nice Alex. When I get mine I can just look at your pics and build it in a few hours. JK!! Well at least the wife can go out this week on her own with the little one so I'll be left home alone to build away.

I don't know about TS engine. I installed a stock Zenoah g260 engine. I did not have any problem of installing the engine.

But, I had a problem of a carb. I had to turn a fuel inlet fitting to right direction.
First time, I tried with a Vise grip. I failed. I broke the fuel inlet fitting. But it was Okay. I connected a fuel tube directly.

Second time, I tried as Onno said. It was successful. I put fuel tube to the fuel inlet fitting of the carb. And, I held it in table vise with some paper to protect the fuel inlet fitting. Then, I turned gently.

It's nice to see Elcon doesn't waste money on pretty packaging

The buggy is looking great!

kiyoung: I weighted the exhaust for you it is exactly 8.5oz. This scale is .1oz accuracy and from my testing it is dead on. Do you have pictures of your Cleon with the body? I am interested to see how you had it painted.

I will make another post tonight once I take pics and update on my build.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you very much.
I don't have artistic talent. So my car is not much to look at. In case you want to see what other Elcon bodies looks like, I attached others.
First three photos are mine.

My 2 Cleon bodies have now been painted and I got them back tonight. The pictures really do the bodies no justice since it is dark so I will be taking new pictures tomorrow outside in the sun to really show how amazing they came out.

Thanks,
Alex
