Default DPS arms, FG baja rebuild part2

new design dps arms arrived today, finally got my baja rebuilt and fired up again, started easy enough with the new 813 even though it's -4 c , few pumps of the throttle and about 10 pulls...so now I'm ready to go but we just got 15" of snow so can't run, I tried and went nowhere[&o] I'll post vid when this cack has gone...I @#$$%ing hate snow![sm=angry_smile.gif]
the dps arms i got were the prototype version for me to try, emailed kris at dps about the finish and hinge issue i mentioned in the first thread and they have already addressed both, i hope to get another set of hinges shortly.
Everything bolted up with no problems and they look tough as old boots so wont be bending these. This new version are made from a stronger grade of aluminum and lighter than the old ones.
Any one interested in a pair let me know.

and the weather

I need alloy shocks and alloy a+b front bulks and i think it'll be finished[8D]

Looks great! And you cat must be HUGE! You Baa looks like a cute 10th scale next to you cat.

I feel for you, bad weather has kept me in from running RCs too

As for your prototype arms, since they said they are stronger alum, are they made from 7075 T6 alum? I know that 7075 T6 has stress curves twice that of 6061 T6.

Tim Horton's? I like it, what better to hold up a 5th scale lol. Can you pm me with some info on those arms?

That looks good. Are they hinge pins bushed or do they wear in the aluminum?

You need a Rampage for that snow-real soon? Real real soon?

Here's a pic of the new style arms, I'd assune the alloy is 7075 jim but i'll check with dps.
all the pins are bushed with teflon and arms come with stainless pins and clips.
Rampage comes this weekend as long as Rob don't get snowed in...can't wait.

Very nice looking! The edges lack camfering, but I personally love the fresh CNC cut look.

When you ask him about the grade of the alum (6061 vs 7075), be sure to as if it is T6.

Here is the reason why: 6061 T6 is actually stronger than 7075-0. The 7075 MUST be treated to T6 to have nearly twice the yield strength of 6061 T6.
