RE: 23 or 26cc engine?
so a 23 will not rev harder or for more top end speed?
how come the 23 that comes with the car will out run a truck on the top end , is it cuz of the size tire and gears only?
was really looking to get a race ported 23 engine to put in the car for the good top end

A 23cc will rev, dont get me wrong, but it will not have te torque of the longer stroke 26cc or 27cc engines. the 26-27cc engines are a good compromise of RPM vs torque in teh spectrum of gassers from 23cc to 30.5cc.

What do you think they use over seas for racing?...In the Europian countries they use a stock 26CC engine with a RN Pipe.....
Just thought I would chime in here....AKASlawhammer

In the field of 1/5th Competition touring sedan, you cannot run bigger then a 23cc motor.
Pase, Alro, suefert, Modelsport & Tom Bowlin modified 23cc motors will slap your 26-30.5 motors around like nothing.
Of course a major thing would be to factor in what tuned pipes, FG, Samba ect., also gearing, carbs and tire compound you run.
Slaw might be thinking of Off road comps running 26cc with a RN pipe.
We do alot of 5th scale Drag racing here in NYC, just my experience from all the different options I have used personally.
Good luck

Stock? Assuming the very same RC with teh very same gearing, the 26cc would outdo the 23cc, especially during teh acceleration phase.

28.5cc, keep high revs with standard stroke crank and gobs more power with the extra cubes. You drop a few revs from the 23 cos of the heavier piston but probably revs real close to a 26
