Default RE: HPI Baja 1/5 Baja 5B SS Kit

I ran my 5B SS for the first time today in the yard. Not a really good place all most too small for 1/8. We have 1/2 acre but with trees house bushes and so on not the best place. Ran about 1 1/2 tanks through it. Need a bigger space to really adjust the HSN. Hope to take it to the track next Saturday to play around.

I still not sure what exhuast I am going to run and right now running the stock can. Here is a list of hop ups I have not some not installed yet as noted.

ORIGINAL: Wicked!!

Hey 46 did you order a pipe yet????

Just wanted to throw my $0.02 in and just say rear DDM is an amazing pipe. The low end grunt is awesome, and the pipe IMO just looks the wickedest.

I noticed somebody on here was bashing it and well from experience both the rear DDM and JP3 are great pipes. The DDM just looks better and has that low end grunt allot of us want.

BTW enjoy your build. I ripper mine apart today and this is what it looks like right now. [] But I think I may order a few goodies just to make putting it back together a little more fun.

Wicked, hows steves body holding up? ...,hes the best.

OK I just ordered a pipe. Might not be the best but I got what I think is a decent deal I got the Mielke Side-Mount Pipe. It is used but looks new and they claim like all it has little run time. Paid $110 shipped. I am still looking at the GBE Hornet and many be a Victory one day but the Mielke has to be better then the stock can I am running now. Guess it is time to sell my SS pipe I never mounted.

I have been thinking about getting one of these kits. Are they relatively easy to put together? I have built an rc car about 20 years ago, im sure a lot has changed since then.

Very easy and HPI has some of the best instructions I have see. I have built 4 HPI RC vehicles and all where a breeze.

You can go to HPI web site and down load the instruction for free and take a look.

A while ago I bought a used Mielke side pipe that looks all most new. Got a good deal on it! I had to find a silicon coupling that took a whole day to find something in town then it only came in UGLY I mean UGLY green. All so the pipe only comes with a wire mount like on nitros and when I tried to mount it with the wire the pipe was touching the body so I make a mount.

Here are some pictures of my new pipe and the stand I modified to hold my 5B SS. It is a Ridged material stand that I modified. I modified it where it swivels 360 degrees and put some rubber that is used for truck tool boxes that keep it from slipping that works REAL well. You can adjust it where you can either work on the Baja either in a chair of standing up. All so folds up to carry in the car. Beats the heck out of the $170 plus dollar stand they sell.
