Default engine swap question

so i have this xrc rc-1 on-road that i got on a trade. ive had it for maybe 4 months and it has about 10 minutes of runtime on it. it barely hits 20mph. ive done some basic mods to it like front disc brakes chassis brace, bearings and good tires, and a decant shell, but it will alway be an XRC. im pulling an unstarted crank piston and head out of my new rampage(cy23) and was thinking about swapping it to the CASE on my xrc, but im not sure if it will work. the xrc mill has is not a cy. the plug is on a 45*angle and it just looks and runs diffrent. JUST WONDERING IF ITS WASTE OR IF IT WILL EVEN WORK. i am not spending any money on this rig for the obvious reasons. so what do you think. is it worth a try?

Default RE: engine swap question

try these before swapping heads.

is it a gearing problem that prevents you from going fast?
how is the compression in the xrc engine?
could it be a tuning issue?
try running your fuel 32:1 or 40:1 for more performance.
check your throttle linkages.
maybe open up the diffs and check the gears.
check the spur gear and the slipper clutch if there is one.
check the wheel hexes.
check the rest of the driveline.

that's all i can think of for now. hope this help.

CY 23 topend will bolt straight up XRC crank will be fine to handle extra power, i've got an rc-1 too, im planning on putting a g230 in mine it will be interesting, might strip gears out but parts are cheap!

thats great news. i wasnt sure about the case being compatable as you dont here much on these mills. im going to excparement with a mild port on this head as well. it just seems as tho the xrc mill doesnt rev out like a cy, no matter how much you tune it. im pretty sure the gears will hold out just fine for on-road use. i opened up the diff when i first got it and it was built well and appears to be a good fail proof design. i worry bout everything else, like the suspension arms stuff. not expecting much, but i just want it to hold up to the others in my fleet
