On-road bodies for HPI 5B? unfortunately not, at least not without cutting and modding the shell and/or the modding the 5B itself.

A Hummer or van body, or maybe a pick-up truck body might work, but for a pick-up truck I think you will have to cut a hole in the bed for the engine and roll cage to clear.

There are several factors to consider before making the mods. The first thing to do is measure the distances of the mounting pins and the height those body pins. The next thing to consider is the wheel base.

So, lets say you have an on-road body that is a 535mm wheelbase. I do not know what the wheel base of the HPI 5B is, but it is considerably longer than 535mm. So, you will have to cut the forward wheel holes to be extended further forward and the rear wheel hols so that they are extend further back. But unfortuntaley, since the Baja 5B is is also a longer vehicle, so a 535mm wheelbase body will not cover the entire RC. So, you will still have exposed RC in front, and maybe in back of the shell.

If you are willing to have the car body sit very high on the 5B, you can simply put on higher body posts and have the car body sit down and tough the roof and roll guard.

^^ Very nice find! Do you have a link to his store? I definitely want to look at the other bodies he has made.

The street rod concept is simply genius for working with the long HPI rail-like buggy.
