ORIGINAL: M0NAR0MAN

Expensive, heavy, heat trapping enclosed carrier I wouldn't fit one to my buggy.

Heat trapping HUH? So you've tested it and found HEAT? Cause that would make YOU the ONLY ONE! Since EVERYONE that has ever put a temp gun to it has NEVER seen over 145degrees, PERIOD! So please, do a little reading and studying before you make claims about my products. As for Expensive, this is not just some GIMMICK product to fix ONe problem, this fixes Multiple problems on the Baja.
And NO oNE has Copied that goofy little Gimmicky venting that completely robs what little integrity the clutch bells have in the first place! ANyone that knows anything about structure would understand. So once again Clayton, I see you can't sell your products without BAGGING on other manufacturers, you haven't changed, you will never change, it's the ONLY way you know to do business and it's sad. But now that I've given you a taste of it back, you will jump all over me, that's fine. Have at it!

One more off topic post (ie not relating to the product shown in the OP), and this will be locked. I've now deleted more than half the posts in this thread for petty bickering on both sides. Anyone stirring up these 'old' issues again, will be dealt with harshly. You have all been warned. There is room in the market for more than one product, period.

I have a few ideas of how the pinion is attached to the bell and i wonder if my ideas were implemented in his design , but i wont tell anyone what i thought up untill mr vertigo says it or shows it himself as i was the one that discussed and told him my ideas of inventing a completely new system , i just hope that this system will solve all of our problems we had in the past , im excited that its a new and clever system and totally differant not just a stupid enormous keyway that some other company made and i wont mention although i still like his products lol

Spl,

I see you own some VP parts and thank you for purchasing them however I don't recall discussing this product with anyone outside of our consulting group.
If our ideas aren't original they are generally adapted from different models or industries all together.
In fact there are 2 designs we are working on and both were conceived before anyone posted any ideas in this topic.

So I am sorry I don't know who you are other than a member of another forum I frequent.

LOL!! I am sorry.. I can't say anything.. We have 2 designs in testing. It is important we make sure one or both meet or exceed our expectations.

The testing worked out very well (I was on one of the test teams). I believe they are in production now or very close to it.

Thanks Mike..

We are sorry for the delay, it is important to us that we have the product perfect even if it means delays. We are working on several options of mounting which is what is taking us the most time.

what does this mean for the supossidly 2speed that is going to come out in a few hundred years when we are upto baja5b version 300 lol , do you believe this new bell and pinion will take the abuse of a two speed .

I think it would, Vertigo and Mr.Arnold should work something out...

...or Mr.Arnold could just include a new bell with extended shaft for his 2 speed kit.

I can't answer that question.. All I can say is that every 2 speed I have seen for 5th scale run on clutch bells with 10mm shafts, the Baja runs a 12mm shaft.

Yes i'm fairly sure the Baja 2speeds currently in development are being built from the ground up, not adapted from other largescale RC's.

Spl, I have no access to their design in order to offer an opinion, If however they are saying stress of a bolt is their concern then yes our bell would be up to the task, I would not know if the bell will work with their design.

It won't, the 2 speed pinion is a custom job - using a 4mm bolt won't work regardless of how you bell looks.

I think it is a possiblity Brice would consider making his gearset adaptable for even the Vertigo type shaft, But it would be a item specific, for example, one gear set would be made to be mounted on the TR set where the other gear set would be made to fit the Vertigo set.

I dont know, but maybe if all you guys got together and decided on somethinng standardized between you guys, all of you could just wind up creating a new industry standard.

I have always prided myself on having a company that doesn't try to control the market. Vertigo is a stand alone company, we don't feel anyone should have to purchase another product to make ours work. If we decided to market a 2 Speed for example it wouldn't require additional expensive items in order to work, it would come as a complete kit.

Now back to regular programming..
