Default Painting polycarbonate body question

Is it true.. that you can use undercoat spray (for automobiles) over top the polycarbonate paint inside the body in order to protect the paint finish?

maybe...but I wouldn't test my luck with such bodies...maybe try on a cheaper smaller scale body first?
Big shells = big clam$...I'd hate to get to the final stage, and see all the paint "blow up"
