KM Baja build up vids
Here's a bunch of vids of my KM Baja bein built up.
First vid is a 100% stock take off from a stand still.
Second is a take off with jes the alcohol carb and 10% nitro. I really wasn't that impressed with the performance and felt like it should have been more. After a couple runs the stock box style exhaust was gettin REAL hot and the coupler started burning.
Third run is with a DDM Dominator pipe, alcohol carb and 10% nitro.
BIG DIFFERENCE! On the way back the throttle stuck and I hit a chain-link fence at WOT. Amazingly no damage!!!! I made another run and immediately blew out the plastic spur gear.

The engines leave alot to be desired, they are not as good as a real CY Fuelie found on real 5Bs. There are some other weak points to address, but aside from the engine, they are not that tough to upgrade.
Check out this thread, it is a long read, but it is full of good info concerning this clone. It is alot to read, but I suggest you take the time to read it through, it is quite thorough.

How about the nitro? can you really put 10% of nitro mixed in the fuel??? is it "good" for the engine? I mean beside the better performance, will it wear out the engine?
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: KM Baja build up vids
The price to smile factors is great with the KM.
I did have some problems like the radio antenna pulled in half on it's first extention.
The clip on the throttle control rod broke from what seemed like jes touching it.
The radio and servos are made by poplar- who are they?
The motor seems OK so far. In stock trim as you can see it almost wont get out of it's own way.
Now with 3 times the power we will see if it holds up
These are things that I wouldn't expect with a real HPI Baja.

I'm pretty sure it is in fact wearing the motor faster how could it not.
When the time comes I'll jes give her a new top-end no problems.
I have a Sikk 27cc motor that has never even had gas through it and other then 2 top-ends in 5 years nothing has ever broke, no new rods, seals or bearings.
If you have the ability to mix your own fuel then it's the way to go.

RE: KM Baja build up vids
I'm still waiting on my gears. I did install a hi rev spring and lightened flywheel in the meantime.
I had issues with the spring being thicker then the stocker and not fitting in the hole. I reamed the holes and it fit fine.
Stock flywheel vs. lightened
I painted the body while I was waiting. I need to do something with those purple parts they are fugly!
